A record player was hacked to translate a tree's rings into piano notes and chords. Far out, trippy and mind blowing, all wrapped into one.

Does it sound like a weed if you play it backwards?

Man that was cool. I'd like to see an analysis of different types of tree and see if there are musical patterns that could be discerned by breed.

I'd like to see a sugar maple, and see if you could 'hear' good years for sap and bad. Sort of like an "ode to joy" when the good years are there, and something more somber for sucky yield years.

Way, way, way cool. Thanks for sharing.

I can't check this out at work, but it sounds really cool. I'll look at it when I get home. Sounds cool!

I like Squid's idea that different trees make different music. A lot!
