Charge and then reset iPod if it stops responding, will not wake from sleep, has no power or sound.

If either of the following occur, charge your iPod, then reset your iPod

iPod has stopped responding and seems to have "frozen". None of the buttons work, but the display is on.

Even though it is charged and the Hold switch is not on, iPod will not wake from sleep no matter which button you press.

When charging your iPod, connect to a powered USB Port as described in the included manual. If your iPod supports charging via FireWire, connect it properly to a powered FireWire port.

When you reset iPod all your songs and files are saved, but some customized settings may be lost.

If iPod turns on after you reset it, download the latest iPod Updater application, and update your iPod's software.

If iPod does not turn on, disconnect it from all power sources and leave it disconnected for about 24 hours, then reset your iPod again. If it turns on now, use the iPod Updater to update your iPod's software.

If iPod still doesn't respond, see the iPod Service Website to arrange for repairs.
