Dropped the kids and MIL off at the airport this morning at 6:30. Came home, finished my coffee, so no going back to bed. Farted around on the computer a couple hours, that was borning. Laid down on the couch and napped between taking calls from the kids during layovers and landings and getting home.

Started watching stand-up comedians, inspired by a recent thread here at 3:00. Started with Tosh. Poured first glass of wine at 3:30. Scandalous!

Continued taking calls from kids, moving on to Louis C.K.

Continued refilling glass.

Moved on to Louis C.K.'s series. 1 st episode not bad.

Refill. Calls.

All subsequent LCK episodes get darker and worse.

Calls. Refill.

Video suggestions?

Wine o'clock (and beer o'clock) is 3:00. You started 30 minutes too late, that's all it was.
Tomorrow you'll do better, I know it.

Read the happy thread for suggestions of other time fillers

As far as videos go...what have I seen lately....Bridesmaids? That made me laugh. Crazy Stupid Love? Not the best movie ever but Ryan Gosling was fun to look at. I enjoyed The Descendants. The Hangover Part 2? So so but I laughed at least twice.

If you're looking to rent a TV series, I'll never stop suggesting Rescue Me but that was super dark.

Good luck! This time will fly by!

Olympics!

How can you not watch? Drama, excitement, controversy.

I'd suggest taking a day or 2 to chill, then get mobile. Even if I only do a couple of theses things when Linds is away I feel better

-bag up clothes which kids have outgrown
-bag up books/toys kids have outgrown
-paint-- touchups or a room?
-rearrange furniture
-turn up the tunes and dance like a madwoman
-buy and cook something only YOU like
-buy premium ice cream and eat it All

As much as you miss your kids, and I get it, TRY and take advantage of this time to do 100% of what you want to do. You'll be sorry when they get back and they're driving you nuts.

Don't end up thinking "I wish I would have enjoyed the quiet more and my very own tub of ice cream."

Jo's stuff sounds like work (no offense)
- go to a movie directly from work
- come home and put on your pajamas right away
- watch porn
- dance around like Jo suggested

They will be back before you know it. Don't be sad.

Okay, I'll start with that last one.
Anything that you can't normally do when your kids are home. Adult themed, or because the kids are too loud or interupt or whatever.

-read

-drink

-bubblebaths

-nine-night stand

-watch non PG movies

-eat food you like that you never make because nobody else likes it

-naps

-throw a non-kid party

-pedicure or some similar self-care thing that you typically wouldn't treat yourself to, for $ reasons

-avoid all chores or things you think you "should do"

-drink directly from the container or other things that you don't usually do because you don't want your kids to do them

-play video games
