Watched last week's NXT and was a little bummed at seeing No Way Jose. I didn't mind, too much, that he lost to Velveteen Dream, but rather that he got almost no reaction from the crowd for anything (antics or moves).Sure, it's the cool smarky thing to cheer for Velveteen Dream, nowadays, but this was a little troubling.
Jose's character and gimmick seemed destined for failure when he debuted. But he got over and made it work. I don't know if he had an injury or what, but I think they missed his window of opportunity to be get called up. Ideally, it would've been right after Wrestlemania, last year. He wouldn't have been a main eventer, but if he had any chance to get established as a legitimate midcard guy, it was then. Now, it seems like he's just hanging on and might be gone by the end of the year.
