I thought Ziggler/Rollins was a perfectly good match but the crowd ruined it by being filled with a bunch of neckbeard, basement dwelling nerds.

More Coliseum Videos have been added to the vault section. Looks like this batch is the wrestler specific profile tapes.

So, as I kinda' predicted for NXT:
[+] spoiler
Tomasso Ciampa pinned Aleister Black to become the new NXT Champion.
Takeover: Brooklyn is shaping up to be another solid card, but it has me thinking of another predictable outcome:
[+] spoiler
Pretty sure Johnny Gargano wins the NXT Championship at Takeover
Again, both spoilers seem predictable... but as we've discussed with NXT, before: sometimes it's perfectly acceptable to be predictable!

Is everyone else as bored with AOP as I am?

Another overrated NXT callup that has flopped on the main roster

Just like Asuka. Just like Apollo Crews, just like the Revival
Just like Adam Rose. Just like the Ascension.
Just like brodus Clay.  Just like the vaudevillians
Just like American Alpha.
Just like Bobby Rude
Just like Mason Ryan

Damn. That's a lot of crappy call ups

Since "the Network Era", Kevin Owens, Shinsuke Nakamura, Rusev and (unexpectedly) Elias seem to be the only NXT call-ups who have really done well. Sami Zayn has done okay. Samoa Joe has had the injury thing. Finn Balor's just been...there.

Kind of a reach to go with Mason Ryan as an example. If you're going back to that time (2012-ish), then you'd have to include NXT call-ups The Shield. They've done well.

You could add Neville as another flop. They presented him as a Big Deal upon his arrival, but it quickly fizzled out. They tried to revive him with 205 Live, but I don't know if you can score that as a success.

This doesn't mean "NXT is full of a buncha' over-rated clowns". NXT, itself, is pretty darn good and the best wrestling show today; hands down. Now, when guys LEAVE and go to the main roster--- that's when it all goes to poo.

Seems more like "NXT uses people to their strengths and books according" while Main Roster is "Fill in this guy for Segment 7 with Booking Sheet 4, even if it doesn't make sense." To call someone like Asuka overrated is insulting to women that can actually wrestle. She's probably the best in-ring performer of any of the females on the main roster or NXT. Chad Gable has charisma and unbelievable ability, but is never booked as anything more than cannon fodder. Bobby Roode is a natural dick and he's a smiling babyface for reasons still unexplained after HOW LONG on the roster? A YEAR? AOP should be the Bludgeon Brothers push, not Harper and Rowan after 5 other failed pushes. The Revival's failure is more "both got injured at different times" and lost their place in line. They never got a shot since one went down immediately after their call-up, and the other followed.

I'll concede Vaudevillains (it's a one-note gimmick, and good for Aiden English surviving) and Ascension (Viktor is too small for a team that is supposed to annihilate people). Neither was going to work on the main roster. TBF, neither were given much of a chance, either. Ascension were buried as beating scrubs and got squashed by the APA and other geezers on an anniversary Raw, and Vaudevillains debuted on Smackdown before the brand split (which is code for "we don't care about them.").

Remember the good old days when we'd hear about how awesome ::insert name here:: was in OVW and then they'd show up on main roster TV with seemingly zero ability to have anything but the most basic match or be black holes of charisma?

Except for the stars, that era is a true blur to me except for Johnny Ace's obsession with hiring underwear models and softcore pornstars.

Two of the great examples are Doug Basham/Damaja. They were both highly buzzed about developmental talent, tearing it up in OVW. Then they show up on Smackdown as the Basham Brothers, devoid of any personality, and seemingly only able to do the basics in the ring.

Did either stay in the business after that WWE run? I think they came back as the ECW goons in the early days on Sci-Fi, but after that, poof.
