Imagine if '98 Austin were booked this poorly. I can't. It's not about wins and losses, because Austin lost a lot of matches, usually through severe shenanigans (he lost his 1st PPV defense by DQ, lost the title in 1st Blood, lost in the 2-on-1 "Triple Threat", lost at Survivor Series, lost the Rumble in '99...). He was allowed to be the avatar of the audience. They found a character the audience hated, Mr. McMahon, and plugged Austin into the role of the trash-talking ass kicker who wouldn't take crap from his boss. Somewhere along the way, the McMahon character went from a real villain to comic book villain, and failed to repeat the formula for 2 decades since. What is Roman's motivation? Why should we get behind him? Because he beats people at WrestleMania? He's never given anything to hook the fans. It doesn't matter how good or bad a worker he is (he's pretty good, often great), he needs a hook, and WWE has missed the boat for 4 years now, and there's no way to dock that ship and get people on board, IMO. The ship is sailed, and the best option is turn him heel, and try something else. Braun is ready made, but I feel has an incredibly short shelf-life. There's no guarantee of another Hogan, Austin, or Cena to ride to the bank.

Rumor is the Bar will be fighting a new team at mania

While I would say that's a good time to call up a team like AOP or Sanity, the favorite is Bray Wyatt and Matt hardy

As they will join forces after their final deletion (or whatever it is going to be called) match on Raw

Don't know if that will be a good team. Guess Jeff hardy will be out even longer than expected

As far as NXT. I can't see it being war Machine as they haven't been there that long

And the NXT champs (Im still calling them Redragon dammit), Fish is hurt. So doubt it will be them

Here comes...HEAVY MACHINERY!

Naw. Just messin'. The Hardy/Wyatt team seems about right.

There's a chance that the NXT Takeover tag match plays into who may appear at Mania. I'd say, if AoP don't win the NXT Tag titles, then their odds of appearing at Mania go up.

Not that it means anything, but I'd rather see SAnitY appear as a foursome on RAW or Smackdown.

EDIT: I could actually see the "new" team at Mania being TM61. They're apparently not winning the Dusty Classic, have been there for awhile (excluding the missed 10 months due to injury) and seemed to have finally gotten over. They could put on a pretty good match with The Bar.

There's zero chance AOP doesn't get called up within a week after Mania. They've gone through the tag division in NXT and developed into decent workers. Excluding a full blown face turn (they're tweeners now, IMO), they've done all they can without a call-up.

Now that reigns isn't facing steroid charges (and they don't need him as a standby to fight Brock), it seems Braun and Elias will be the mystery team challenging the Bar at wrestlemania. Fine with me.

Edit: I hadn't watched raw when I posted this

Seems the rumors have a shot as Braun won the tag team battle royal by himself

Probably will be Elias

Could be Neville

As expected, they announced the "Fabulous Moolah Memorial Battle Royal." I'm a little surprised with the naming of it, only because the WWE moved on from her in favor of Mae Young as the "trailblazer" of her era, and because of stories that came out after her death about her reprehensible behavior as a human being that tried to monopolize women's wrestling and whore her female trainees out as prostitutes under the threat of physical abuse.

Monopolize women's wrestling to me = just how it is. Vince tried to take over the wrestling world in the 80w. And he was able to do it

Now pimping out that women. That's fucking horrible. If it's true. Some women have defended moolah

They had the mae young classic. So I'm not surprised they named it after moolah.

I figure it's gotta' be someone who:

1- Is dead (hence "Memorial")
2- Had a significant stint with WWF/WWE

The "Chyna Memorial Battle Royal" doesn't really seem appropriate, either. Sensational Sherri was more known as a manager t in the WWF. Trish Stratus, Madusa/Alundra or even Wendi Richter are still alive. So...yeah... kinda' slim pickings.

I don't think they will ever think of Chyna in that regard. Because of the porn stuff. and her bad mouthing the WWF.
She did get screwed over by HHH literally and figuratively. So I don't blamer her for being mad at them
But not to the extent she went

From F4Wonline.com...

wrote: There will be a women's battle royal on the WrestleMania 34 card, but it's not going to be named after the Fabulous Moolah.

WWE issued a statement this afternoon announcing that they've dropped the "Fabulous Moolah Memorial Battle Royal" name from the match: “After further consideration, we believe it’s best to proceed with the name ‘WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal.’ What remains most important is that this historic match is part of WWE’s unwavering commitment to the Women’s Division.”

The battle royal was first announced in a video that aired on Monday's episode of Raw, with it portraying Moolah (real name Lillian Ellison) as a pioneer for women's athletics, someone who challenged gender norms, and a trailblazer for women's equality. But the announcement was immediately met with backlash due to Moolah's history of mistreating her trainees.

Jeannine Mjoseth, who trained with Moolah and went by Mad Maxine and Lady Maxine in pro wrestling, described that mistreatment when asked for comment by Pro Wrestling Sheet: "A lot of women paid to train at her school and then went out on the road. They risked life and limb in their matches and she repaid them with the worst kinds of abuses. She skimmed their money, she ignored women who were badly hurt, she pimped women out to creepy men and on and on. She was not a mother figure. She was more like Kali, the Indian Goddess of Destruction. I met her in my early 20s and I had never met such a monstrous person."

Though the backlash online was instant, WWE re-aired the announcement video on Tuesday's SmackDown before reversing course and announcing the name change today.

Before the change, the parent company of Snickers (the presenting sponsor of WrestleMania 34) released a statement calling the name of the battle royal "unacceptable": "We were recently made aware of the World Wrestling Entertainment Inc’s (WWE) decision to honor a former wrestler during the upcoming WrestleMania 34 event. As a principle-based business that has long championed creating inclusive environments that encourage and empower everyone to reach their full potential, this is unacceptable. We are engaging with the WWE to express our disappointment."

The battle royal will feature women's wrestlers from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT. WWE has yet to confirm how many participants will be in it.
WWE LISTENED TO THE FANS!?!?!?!?! Ha. Sponsors, though...
