Hey, didja' watch last night's "Destination X" PPV last night? Me neither... but the Impact/TNA folder was looking lonely, so I thought I'd use the help the Information Superhighway's World Wide Web to list the results:

- Kazarian pinned Samoa Joe

- Douglas Williams pinned Mark Haskins

- Eric Young & Shark Boy beat Generation Me

- Ultimate X:
Alex Shelley beat Amazing Red, Robbie E and Shannon Moore

- Rob Van pinned Jerry Lynn on ECW Hardcore TV....errrrr, on this PPV.

- "Winner gets an Impact Contract" match:
Austin Aries beat Jack Evans, Low-Ki and Zema Ion

- X-Division Championship:
Brian Kendrick pinned Abyss © to win the title
(with essentially the entire locker room doing a run-in)

- AJ Styles pinned Christopher Daniels

My completely worthless thoughts after seeing the results:
-Whoa, Kazarian pinned Samoa Joe?
-How many different stints has Low-Ki/Senshi had in TNA now?
-No clue whether or not a cleanly labeled "CONTRACT" was suspended over the contract match
-Thought it a little weird that only 1 title match was featured. Seems like this show catered to the TNA fans of about 5 years ago. Only thing missing is Jeff Jarrett and AMW.

This would be run number 4 for Low Ki.

Has Joe really fallen that out of favor he's jobbing to Kazarian? I'll give them credit for focusing most, if not the entire card with their guys who fans have established in their minds as D-Division wrestlers.

Erik:

This PPV was for X-Division wrestlers only which is why it was called Destination X

So that is why there was no Jeff Jarett on it but it felt like 2005-2006 as the X Division was pushed more back then

Kazarian over Samoa Joe is not a surprise in today's TNA. Kazarian is pushed as a member of Fortune, while Samoa Joe is in the middle of a losing streak and is questioning himself. That is the story line

Low Ki has not been re-signed by TNA, at least not going into the PPV. The contract match did have 4 guys that are not TNA wrestlers (though now Austin Aries has been signed)

Wrestling and their habit of recycling bad ideas... Losing streak storylines are stupid and do nothing but make someone look terrible. Same goes for the "wrestler who calls attention to his own flaws" gimmick, like Lance Storm being boring. It's just stupid. How does it make sense to devalue a wrestler by calling attention to him losing every match?

I completely disagree. The losing streak angle can have great results. That's what got us heel Jericho in 1998.

I'd argue against that would be an instance of it being the exception to the rule, but no matter how many times it's been done, I can't for the life of me remember any such losing streak storylines.

Oh wait, I got one. Christian in 2002 when DDP became his guru for about two weeks and lead to a European title match at WrestleMania X-8. Totally pointless, did nothing to move Christian up the card, and was just a waste of time for everyone involved. We did get to see some pretty stupid smiles from Christian and Arn Anderson, so it did have an entertaining moment.

They've done it for a couple of tag team breakups. It's always good for that.

They did one with David Young in TNA in the Nashville days

He was with Disco Inferno and Johnny Swinger then

He had a losing streak of a think 108 matches and then Disco dumped him

David Young then beat Disco to end the streak

I think he was released soon after.

David Young had a good build and an awesome spinebuster, but not much else.
