The entire first disc is a big "pass" for me. I mean, the Paris match with Akeem?! Troy Martin is Shane Douglas (right?) but that's not exactly worth seeking out.

I understand that "El Passo" is west of Sann Anntonio and southwest of Dallass. Hey-oh!

This date is likely incorrect. Hennig didn't debut on Nitro until June 1997 in a BIG angle. I think this is from the Nitro I attended on August 11, 1997 (took my dad for his 50th birthday), in Denver. I remember they announced it at the arena as the "first time these two have ever met". Hennig was also a face; and friend of the Horsemen; at the time. Savage was firmly in the nWo. So that'd make sense.

A lot of dates on the website are wrong. The meat and potatoes for me is Disc 2 and part of 3.

Worked my way through the first 90 minutes of Disc 1. Lots of random squashes, so I'm interested in some of the selection process (I get the debut, I get the one with Shane Douglas, but we didn't need most of the others). His match with Scott McGhee from the Cap Centre was surprisingly decent considering McGhee was a JTTS. Savage gave him a lot of offense and it was all action crammed into 6:30.

I'm surprised they didn't add the match he had with Taker circa Fall 91. I know it exists as they showed a clip of it on their YouTube channel a few years back.

THANK YOU!

But Hogan/Savage vs. Roberts/Berzerker is a fair trade.

Hogan/Steamboat v. Savage/Honky was, at one point, on YouTube, but the channel was deleted. Good match. It's the "fun dark match main event" formula where the faces destroy Honky for almost 10 minutes while Savage does everything to avoid Steamboat.

Savage/Steamboat from Houston is outstanding. Was available on DailyMotion, looks to be scrubbed from there, too.

Part 1 of the official review is up on Da' Site. Dumb question: I'm guessing WWE doesn't have any ICW or Memphis footage of Macho Man?

For the Paris 1988 match against Akeem: I always assumed that the event was booked and promoted months in advance, when Akeem was still the One Man Gang. So bringing out the ring card that bills him as "One Man Gang", while sloppy, kinda' makes sense, for consistency, given the language barrier. I could imagine some Frenchie sitting in the crowd thinking: "Sacre Bleu! Who is this Akeem? We were promised One Man Gang!"
