FWIW, the Pittsburgh Pirates are putting together a supply shipment for Puerto Rico. The organization has a long history with PR. Their initial push is for Pitt locals to donate items (and you get a free Clemente shirt if you do), but they also have a monetary donation form that will be active until 6pm (EDT) Wednesday.http://pittsburgh.pirates.mlb.com/pit/c ... n_form.jsp

I know traditionalists shit on 'em, but I like the one-game Wildcards. I got two pre-sale tickets for the Rockies' NLDS home game (game 3), should they make it past Arizona in the WC game. Kinda' glad I (sorta') saved my money this year, as I only paid for two sets of tickets during the season.

Assuming Clemente is the one who started the charities with PR, it's good that they keep doing things like this

And if it was started before Clemente, even better

Not sure when their official charity branch was begun. Clemente probably set the the example, though. Ever since then (we'll say: mid-1950's), the Pirates have pretty much been the "home team" for Puerto Rico. If you're ever visiting Puerto Rico and want to make friends: wear a Pirates hat.

Both Wildcard games were highly entertaining. Archie Bradley's triple! I am completely apathetic when it comes to the D-Backs, but that was pretty cool. He also had a good post-game, on-field, interview and didn't come off like a dumbshit. Liked how he complimented the Rockies before doing the usual answers.

Yankees blew it badly tonight

If you are up 8-3 in a playoff game, you have to be able to hold on

Especially after knocking out Kluber who is arguably the best pitcher in the AL

Last night made me rethink Girardi's standing when it comes to long-term job security. It's one of those "leaving Pedro in" kind of moments that automatically gets you sacked.

If george Steinbrenner was still alive, girardi would definitely be fired once they lost this series

I think he's safe

I think it's kind of amazing that he guided them through a rebuild without having a losing record.

That's the main reason I said I think he's safe

He was masterful in the wild card with the bullpen as well

And they've tied it 2 games to 2

I like how girardi has named CC the game 5 starter instead of Gray
Normal rest for CC and he has much more playoff experience than Gray
