So, last night and tonight I made throw pillow covers out of 82 cent placemats from Target (along with a big pillow from Walmart that I cut in half [and sewed up] to fit in them. Anyone else working on smaller projects like that?

Very cute! Do you like working on a hoop? I gave those up long ago, they drove me crazy...

I have an old metal hoop my grandma gave me. She use to cross stitch but now she can't see (Her retina detached from her eye so she see's double). I love to use it, plus it reminds me of her.

This is my new cross stitch I started last night

I'm so jealous of those of you who can make crafts well. I've tried knitting and am terrible at it!

Most of this stuff just takes practice! Keep trying!

Knitting - I do knit, but not often. As a teen, I thought I was just a terrible knitter as everything would come out looking like ___t. After college, I decided to take a class at the local community ed. It's hard to describe, but the instructor told me I knit backwards (and asked if I was a leftie, I'm not). She said that as long as I was consistent, it shouldn't be a big deal. So that's how I knit. I've done sweaters, but mostly blanket type stuff. Try taking a class and having someone look at your technique.
