The Bravo Los Angeles team had initially responded to shots being fired at the docks in Long Beach by people on board a container ship that was trying to leave. It was later determined that this group was known as TRIO, an Asian criminal syndicate, and they had kidnapped several people for either selling them into slavery or use them for some other nefarious purpose. The Crusaders leapt into action.

Now, Aura, Magen and Hanzo were onboard and had been waging a fight against the martial skills of the TRIO. Severely outnumbered, the two women had managed to hold out as other members of the Crusaders arrived to help including their teammate Hanzo and Alpha squad member Multiphase. While Aura and Magen had gone into the cargo hold, Multiphase handled the TRIO members still in the fight as only he could.

With the ship entering international waters and the Coast Guard working on getting to them, a snag arrived with Magen's drug finally dissolving and leaving her system. Conversely, most of the TRIO members around the duo were either unconscious or dead and had left lots of weapons behind. Hanzo came over the side and met them on the floor of the cargo area. Somewhere on this level in one of the containers were the kidnapped victims. Could they get them out in time before the ship managed to get away?

Zahava listened as Aura asked her about the drugs. She had more, that much was true, but she still hesitated to answer. What if Aura commanded she take them? After a moment she answered carefully.

"I have more. But I would recommend against using them except in an emergency capacity. They could prove deadly if I use them too much. Overdosing on the drug cocktail is common amongst those who use it." Zahava explained. She left out the painful fact that out of all the test subjects she was the only one left. The only survivor. Meaning she could theoretically use the drugs, as they hadn't killed her yet. No one knew what her actual tolerance to the drugs were. All she had were recommendations about how much to use.

As the dutiful soldier she was (while she never served in the traditional armed forces, she held no illusions of what she was) awaiting orders. It would not be her call on what she would do. She may be able to give recommendations and act on her own, but she would never disobey a direct command. Even if it killer her.

Julianna listened to her teammate and nodded slowly. There was no need to take the risk to have her OD, especially not since the imminent threat was gone. "Alright. Can you get around fine? We need to get moving." While she was concerned for Zahava's situation, she was equally concerned about those hostages.

She gave Hanzo a nod as he joined them and then her attention moved over to the long rows of containers ahead of them. "Hostages have to be in one of these. You two, start searching the left row and make your way over to the middle." That was unless she had cleared the containers before them. She had the advantage that she didn't need to open a door to get inside, making the process quicker on her part. "I'll go through those on the right first."

Giving them both a tight nod, she moved over to what she had just claimed as her row and switched into phasing mode. She went through the side of the first container, appearing right inside. She continued the process through the first few, hoping to find the hostages quickly.

Rejoining his team mates Masamune quickly noted that they were somewhat worse for wear, it must have been a hard fight before Multiphase arrived to even the odds. Listening intently as the pair discussed the situation the shinobi nodded and quickly set about opening the first container, his ninjato in easy reach if needed. Looking to Magen as he snapped the catch across he acknowledged her with a nod. "Magen. It is a pleasure to see you again. I commend your resolve but be sure not to risk your life needlessly, if you are at your limit with the substance that you use then you are at your limit. If necessary you may need to push further but until then you are far too important to this team. He stated, virtually no emotion to his voice as he turned his attention back to the container. Throwing the doors open he smirked slightly to himself. By the gods he was getting preachy as he aged.

Hanzo and Magen worked through the first few containers finding what appeared to be food stuffs while Aura walked through the first few on the right to discover that expensive cars were being smuggled. As they progressed toward the middle, the searches did not improve on their results. Much of what was found was more contraband.

Up on the main deck, Multiphase was, in essence, cleaning house. Several more bodies of TRIO members were flung or crash landed into the cargo bay. His voice came over the comms. "I have just gained entrance to the part of the boat with controls. Will be shutting her down momentarily."

As Aura made her way through the containers, she discovered nothing on the bottom level but they were stacked three high. It was quite possibly the kidnap victims were in one of the other containers. It would just be a matter of reaching them somehow.

Everyone could feel the boat starting to slow as a Coast Guard helicopter passed overhead shouting instructions to those in command of the bulk freighter. It only took a few moments for Keeley to reassure them the Crusaders had managed to take control of the boat. There were many casualties among the TRIO.

Zahava felt her bones ache as she slowly walked along the path, looking at the different containers. Her head hurt, and her hands shook, but she continued to walk forward. She tried to see if there was any container that stood out, that was different. She ran her shaking hands across the containers to see if she would feel any difference. To see if there were any telltale signs of differences.

Luckily the arrival of Multiphase and the Coast Guard meant that they were in no immediate hurry, though her gun was still in her hand as she looked around. There was no reason to be less than cautious.

Where would the prisoners be? She wondered to herself. She could narrow it down, but as far as she could tell, any one of the containers would be able to hold a group of people. And if they had split them between containers, then who knows? She wished she had more information. Her hands rested on a container as she closed her eyes. What did she know, and what could she guess?

1) There were prisoners on board.
2) They would need to be somewhere difficult to find instantly if the ship was pulled over for a random check.
3) It would also need to be somewhere that was easy to guard, and easy to get off the ship, without others knowing what was in that location.
4) The containers were probably the best bet, but not the only answer either. A room underneath something could also be a good place to hide people. Especially if they were not required to arrive in good condition.
5) Prisoners were no good dead, so it has to be somewhere that food and water could easily be supplied.
6) Probably most importantly, it would have to be somewhere soundproof, so that the outside world would not hear them if they called out for help. Also if the prisoners couldn't hear what was going on outside then it would probably leave them more scared than anything else. Good way for compliance.

If she put those facts together, what does that leave? Zahava sighed as she tried to put all the pieces together.

With the ship stopped, the Coast Guard continued to hover overhead. A few of the Multiphase copies appeared and started collecting the members of TRIO. They were being bound and in some cases hoisted out by ropes if unconscious. As the Crusader was hoisting and binding the members of TRIO, the rest of Bravo Los Angeles on the boat searched for the kidnap victims.

It took a few tries of climbing up to the tops of containers and making her way through them for Aura to realize they were not in the containers which meant they were elsewhere in the ship. A full search started across the bottom deck. Then the next floor up.

Behind some concealed panels in the interior walls of the ship, Aura discovered two dozen girls, most of them blonde, who were chained at the wrists to the floor of the room. They had all been drugged and remained mostly dead weight by the time the Crusaders discovered them. It took some work but they slowly extracted them from the room and managed to get them up to the top deck into the fresh air.

Zahava wandered over to the women. She smiled and spoke reassuring words. She knew how it felt to be in a position like that. She shuddered thinking at the pure atrocities committed here. She wanted to shoot something. More specifically shoot multiple someones. Sadly she highly doubted that they would let her do it.

Instead, after speaking to the women, she skulked off to hide in the shadows. She kept her eyes peeled. Looking out for any sign that their journey was not done yet. That no one would hurt these poor women, at least not when she had an eye out for them. Which reminded her, she would have to somehow obtain a list of the women's names and addresses. In case there was anyone who needed persuading to leave them alone.

She almost smiled at the internal thoughts she was having. Almost. I really have become an Magen, or at least I think like one, haven't I?

She waited against the wall for more orders to come in.
