Erin stepped through the portal after the rest of her jury-rigged new team. Teeth chattering, she staggered out behind the others shaking her head to try and get her brain working again. She looked up at the sky and beamed. Despite all the fear and doubt being part of the Crusaders had caused this moment was magical. It reminded her of the time she’d swum with a pod of dolphins in the Pacific – a treasured memory.

Hard-won instincts reasserted themselves as she looked around to try and pinpoint her teammates and make sure they were safe. Her eyes widened when ‘Rocky’ came to life. She dipped a small bow to him (her? It?) and said in her usual soft, pleasant voice “Pleased to meet you.”

As the others came through, "Rocky" nodded in the direction of those who greeted him before slowing turning and walking away down a rough hewn path. "Come on, he'll show us the safe way through heath. Some of the landscape is fairly dangerous when attempted by itself, kind of like a moor. Stay close or stay in the air."

Shockwave took off after the lumbering rock formation as it moved with large, long strides through the bluish dirt. The circular flat "footprints" were easy enough to follow. He moved to keep up as "Rocky" was traveling faster than expected. "Has most everyone else arrived then?" The rocks seemed to nod as they continued to move forward.

Paying attention to both Rocky and Shockwave movement and the later words, Connor noticed that this was a case of not judging a book for it's cover. The landscape was unique and its uniqueness, gave it a beauty that could distract them and obviously make them fall into a trap, especially considering Shockwave last words about the dangers around them.

"I see that the beauty of this place is deceiving like the siren song of the Greek stories." He said to his teammates. Turning around in the air, so that he could answer made, he noticed that his crusaders mates had all passed and were following them. "It seems we are all counted for and moving. So Shockwave, what can you tell us more about this place? Besides what was on the files, I mean..." A former military man, Connor knew that personal impressions were most times more accurate than people would consider.

Prime was excited at the prospect of another full dimension, exillerated!

He followed through the dimensional transport, the cold didn't bother him, but he was aware of it.

And when it came time to greet their 'host', he almost blurted out his name. Not that it would have mattered. "Hello Rocky I'm Doc... I'm Prime." A glance at his small instrument indicated they were not able to get any readings, they were in a recalibration mode. Which was anticipated given all external references the devices used did not exist in this dimension.

They were designed for this though, data would be forthcoming.

Thankful for the use of her wings, Seraph easily kept pace with 'Rocky', all the while making sure to take a good look at her surroundings. It was a shame she couldn't tell her adoptive parents about this place, or of her situation in general, but nonetheless it was something she wanted to keep in her mind. Not to mention being a bit on the welcoming side as Michael was before, she felt a bit more at ease in her current appearance as Erin and Connor kept up behind them.

"Is there anything I need to know about this place, or of the situation?" She asked kindly. "For most of us, this is our first time being here and I wish not to cause offense for anything we do or say." While it may be better to ask forgiveness than for permission, Seraph was respectful of other people's cultures. This place - while so different from her home - was no exception.

After Jenny got used to the freezing chill left by the portal, and quite possibly, the atmosphere around them now, she turned around watched the last couple of Crusaders wander in through the portal. She was fixated on the portals glow that she didn't take a glance over at "Rocky" until Shockwave introduced him to the rest of the group. That was when she took a look at the rock creature, and raised her eyebrows at his size, but didn't question anything beyond that. Now that they were past the portal, she felt she didn't have the right to question anything out of the ordinary, cause, well, everything would be out of the ordinary.

Jenny followed as they started to trek out on there little journey through the moor, but her legs soon started to grow tired from keeping up with Rocky's long, fast-paced strides. She gritted her teeth for a few more minutes before calling out to Shockwave. "Would it do any harm if I transformed into a wolf, to keep up with everyone else? With my short legs, it's killing me." She heard Celestia's question sound out after hers, and figured instead of asking again, let Shockwave have a chance to answer.

Deciding that Celestia had the right idea Erin transformed into her other form, keeping the light soft enough that it shouldn’t hurt anyone and hopped up into the air. She pushed off from the ground like it was the side of a swimming pool and hung in the air for a second before heading after the other Crusaders. The young woman kept her ears peeled as the other Crusaders spoke, before asking Bartolmeo and Max “What do we do when we get where we are being led?” The initial enthusiasm she had felt at seeing this odd new place had died back to her normal level of emotions, and she snorted inwardly and wondered when she had gotten so jaded.

"We do need to watch where we step since some of the ground is not friendly to alien life which is another reason Rocky is here." Shockwave spoke as he placed his feet one by one in each of Rocky's footprints. Off in the distance, there were sounds of an alarm starting to be heard which caused Rocky to stop short quite suddenly.

A little flying golden orb raced toward the group before stopping a few feet out and breaking apart in to ball of sensors. After a few moments, the sensors snapped closed and a speaker activated. "BEWARE! BEWARE! Prison break has occurred! Prison population at 95.5% and holding! Noted prisoner Nilmervir among missing, outside help expected! Be on gua--" There was a minor explosion as the ball exploded into pieces.

A small metal platform appeared hovering in the middle of the air before it was joined by three others bristling with weapons. Standing on the platforms were some green skinned men cackling behind cannons. A hooded figure decked out in dark green intoned, almost sadistically "You are welcome to make a move if you must. However, you will have your hands full." He lowered his hood to reveal man with yellowish green skin and red eyes. "My disciples will keep you Crusaders busy, especially Shockwave, you whelp!" Nilmervir's eyes glowed briefly before a wicked grin came across his face. "Have fun while I take your world for mine! HAHAHAHAHA!"

As he teleported away in a blast of red energy, Rocky abruptly turned, his eyes glowing red, and punched Shockwave really hard in the stomach before slamming him to the ground and stomping on him. When the more veteran Crusader fell to the ground, blood was already starting to pour out of his mouth. The guns on the platforms opened up with blazing flamethrowers.

Her question was answered with the caution of watching where she stood, since some of the life and surroundings wouldn't be friendly to the visitors. Seraph nodded, making sure her feet didn't touch the ground or was at least shielded if she did so. Glancing behind her at the others, the brunette was relieved that they were alright for now and turned back around to get a glance at their ultimate destination...

...only to see a golden orb fly toward them.

Prison break? This has to be Nilmevir's doing... The half-angel thought to herself as she took all this in. With their objective now on the loose, there was no denying it now: force would be necessary to stop him once more. But just as Seraph was about to ask to fly on ahead, a figure hovering on a metal platform appeared with several of what looked like guns. Seraph looked him in the eyes as the stranger intoned on taking their world for his own, and that Shockwave would be 'busy' before vanishing. Hitting the comms although she wasn't sure if they could hear her, Seraph almost screamed, "Close the portal! Nilmevir's on the loose! Don't let him leave!" Then Shockwave started getting pummeled by Rocky, who was now controlled by the former prisoner. "No! What are you doing?! Stop!" Flying over to try and separate the two, the brunette whispered, "I'm sorry to do this..." before trying to push Rocky away and put up a shield while gathering some of her healing power in her hand.

Dr. Columbo was being very science and professorial. He continued to adjust the equipment he had brought with him. The atomic structures analysis was showing some results, early indications that the basic laws of physics still applied.

The warning came then, Prime put away his equipment and his density increased slightly as he became more defensive.

Then the attacks and the madman came and went. Prime made a quick shift to agility and launched himself at Rocky then hitting his density to max as his feet aimed at the Rock creature.

"Maybe healing Rocky will counter the mind control." he said as he measured the second phase of his offensive. First stunning Rocky and then launching himself toward one of the firing platforms.

It seemed that not matter in what dimension you were, being a hero, meant that things were never easy. Their little walk (or flight in some of them cases), was not a sightseeing, as Max warned them all about the dangers of the ground...as if it was a bad omen, Max words were followed shortly by the appearance of a small golden orb, that warned them about an on-going jailbreak.

Moments later, floating metal platforms appeared and had hostiles on them, that were ready to engage them. As the man who dressed them, could only meant that they were getting a encounter of first degree with the Nilmevir fellow, who seemed intended into attacking Earth. Hearing Seraph scream through the com-links about closing the gateway that had transported them here, while Prime and her both tackled the gigantic Rocky, who had been able to tackle Max to the ground.

While the others moved to the rocky giant, Connor head towards the armed green men, as he flew, Connor shoot an photokinetic blast of each hand, to his targets, holding the cannons.

Erin reacted much more quickly than she might once have done when the small floating object started yelling about a prison break. Whereas once her first impulse would have been to try and heal Max or wait for someone more senior to tell her what to do she took a moment to assess what was going on. One of the things both Bartolmeo and Diana had hammered into the young woman was that in a crisis there was always time to think. Never as long as you might like, admittedly, but thinking and then reacting was still almost always better.

Seeing that Prime and Seraph were both focusing on Rocky she decided that she should support her other team member in engaging the flying platforms. Erin decided against trying to blind her opponents, reasoning that the flamethrowers they were carrying would still be effective even if the user was blinded. She gathered in power, fueling it with her emotions. Despite the control involved the whole process sometimes reminded her of the way when you were angry things seemed to fuel that – getting more and more powerful. Once she thought she had enough power a snaking beam of energy lashed out at the left-most of the flyers. It was far thinner and more efficient than it had used to be – about the width of two pencils.

Jenny froze when the commotion started, not out of fear, but attempting to communicate with animals to figure out what the whole situation was, until she remembered she wasn't on Earth anymore. Out of instinct, when she realized she couldn't do that, she transformed into her wolf form, her blue eyes glowing with rage as Rocky started attacking them. She noted the flying platforms attacking as well, but seeing as she couldn't fly, she figured she'd help with the battle on the ground. Not knowing what to do next, seeing as the stone giant would probably hurt her teeth and claws, she stepped back, and placed herself in a defensive position until she could find an attack of opportunity.
