Re: Alcohol and drug abuse among crossdreamers

If only it were occasional events like weddings, that would be one thing.  But business meetings, even casual gatherings with any number of friends greater than the most intimate 1- those present the same challenges and the same binding force to use alcohol to cope.

Re: Alcohol and drug abuse among crossdreamers

What can I say... the majority of my social interactions are assisted by that "perfect number" of drinks from which inhibitions are lowered and yet functionality is high quality.  Without it, introversion is guaranteed to be high.  It is certainly nothing to be proud of, but we are working through it.

Re: disinterest & frustrations

And to that end, I contribute a third pastime recently vanished.  Playing the piano is, as far as I recall in my past, vastly different as a girl.  Wearing heels feels completely different upon the pedals and also changes your posture and the entire way your body moves, even though you are seated.  ...

Re: disinterest & frustrations

It is indeed a cyclical problem: dysphoria and dormancy exacerbate one another with equally strong causality, and the very parts of the self that you know would be crucial to self-acceptance are the very parts inaccessible during our self-rejection.  April and Dawn, you pose the valid question of be...

Re: Gender question

I do have to ask at what point such arbitrary options begin to trivialize the very question that we take very seriously here.

Re: disinterest & frustrations

I am grateful for the encouragement of everyone, but I also recognize that I'm not yet in any position to be pushed into self-actualization.  That is why my original question was not so much how do I pick myself up again but more basic: are there things you would enjoy doing in your ideal body that ...

disinterest & frustrations

If I were indeed the goddess I want to be, I would find joy in doing so many more things.  But in this original body, I have no desire to do anything at all.  And if there is anything that even remotely requires effort, I become irremediably angry. My question for everyone is- what things do you eit...

Re: Coming out to my 8 year old son

For all the talk of children being blank slates, they actually do form judgments earlier than they are given credit for.  The magical age of 8 also factored into my life, as that was the age I first revealed to my classmates that I enjoyed playing with my sister's dolls.  The fact that I used the do...

Re: supernatural crossdreamer

Hey Monique, I would love to compare dreams with you!  I have a suspicion that at our best we are actually imagining the same world, once we cast off the categories that result from the world we live in now and start to embrace purer distinctions.  Even the distinction between "girl" and "woman" is ...

Re: Where was I before I was born?

I am an ardent Catholic, and it is because I have discovered through years of learning and personal formation how to kindle our internal aspiration to eternity in the midst of an external religious structure that falls so far short of it.  And I can guarantee that the majority of my mental energies ...
