Re: I ruined my life my coming out

Addie, Feelings never lie in regards to this topic. You seem to me to be rather gender fluid. You felt more like a boy for while, and therefore decided to present in a way more consistent with that. There was nothing wrong with that. Now you feel more like a girl and you choose present more that way...

Re: Songs that make you crossdream

If you like pop, that's perfectly cool. That is true of anything else as well. Taste is taste. As John Lennon said "Whatever gets you through the night". I have never been particularly crazy about pop, but could occasionally find a song I liked - guilty little pleasures. Some of ABBA's music fits in...

Re: Camille Paglia & Jordan B Peterson

On the specific issue of radical feminism, I agree (mostly) with Camille's assessment, largely because the enemy of my enemy is my friend (sort of). But just because I can largely agree with her on one subject fairly relevant to own my life, I don't have to buy her ideas wholesale.   Bobbi, yes her ...

Re: Camille Paglia & Jordan B Peterson

In the USA, these hate speech laws are rarely used independently. They are almost always used in conjunction with other charges involving acts of extreme harassment or violence. And one's right to free speech doesn't trump another's right just to exist without harassment or harm. An obvious LGBT per...

Re: Songs that make you crossdream

Deborah, I have been able to groove with a lot of your choices in this thread, but not with this one. The music world is full inspirations and roll models for me, and there is no question I have borrowed from it for some of my style choices. But if I came up with my top 1,000 influences, Taylor woul...

Re: Camille Paglia & Jordan B Peterson

If he would just shut up about what real men and women are supposed to be and all that other fascist stuft, I would find him sort of pretty and cute. I wonder if is into older trans girls.

Re: Camille Paglia & Jordan B Peterson

Monique, I admit I am not an expert on the Canadian system, but that lack of specificity wouldn't work in America. The gender dimension would need to be defined. Otherwise one administration could through executive order deal with it one way, and another administration another way. Trans civil right...

I am laughing so hard, I am actually spitting out my coffee. He reminds of a character from a comedy sketch. Does anybody actually take this guy seriously?

Re: Camille Paglia & Jordan B Peterson

Monique, Blanchard's model can't be half right, because it claims to explain ALL transsexualitsm. Either it explains all or it doesn't. There is no middle ground there. The problem is that it hasn't stayed in the academic arena where it has been repeatedly debunked. People, with intent to do harm, h...

Re:

Monique, I saw that film when it came out, but I didn't remember the scene. I can't believe I had forgotten that. In a very funny way, it does a great job of covering thus whole issue of gender stereotypes and dancing. My dad wouldn't have used a 4 letter word, but he would have had a similar reacti...
