'ello to you all!
I joined up because I'm glad that Cathedral still live (I thought they'd given up th' ghost after 'Garden') and there's a friendly forum here to yak about this f$@^in' great traditional British HM band!
I'm not strictly British though, I live in Australia.
I'm a bit of an old geezer (42) and have a similar aged ol' missus (42) with a very young son. He's not sure whether he likes Cathedral yet - but seeing that he's a bit of a 'chip-off-the-old-block' in many ways and that he will be soon playing guitar anyway, it's basically inevitable.
Best wishes to you all!
Necroromancer.

Hello to all members of the cathedral coven! I first listened to the mighty Cathedral in the early 90's as a teenager back then. First record was forest...recommended to me by a friend who sadly after some years took his own life...but had a great artistic and music taste. Carnival blow me away and i had the chance to see the band live in Athens during that tour...amazing concert, Lee was so authentic, crazy and entertaining....For many years after i lost track of the band, mostly due to my change of musical preferences...Recently though i discovered the Guessing Game and this album really grew on me. A true masterpiece of not only metal music. Cathedral is essentially a band of fans made for fans and this along with their talent, Lee's charismatic lyrics and persona and their unique approach makes them one of the best rock bands from the 90's onwards. I was sad to learn they are calling it a day after the new album, but their legacy will be preserved and grow for many years to come!

Hey everybody. I discovered this incredible band when "The Ethereal Mirror" came out during the whole Colombia/Sony thing.

At first I wasn't sure what to make of it. It was metal-but slower and had a little bit of groove to it. The singer sounded like some creepy character from Grimm's Fairy Tales. And of course the artwork fit the music like a glove. How could a painting featuring bright blue skies seem darker and more twisted than all the red and black I was so used to seeing on CD covers for music I usually bought?

I have been a faithful listener ever since. I love their thick heavy sound and the fact that they are willing to experiment! It sucks that Cathedral is going to stop playing but we're left with a lot of great music and there's still one more to look forward too. I hope it's dark, creepy, and sloooooowwww.

Hi Alone...

I'm high alone...

Welcome to the funeral...
The living dead are all I see
This man-made grey society
A funeral life in front of me
It's futile choice my misery
