linear cooling

Any tips on fans or mounting fans to linears? :shock:

Many options.

If the amp is not moved about much, you could do what I did. The fan I used had 4 holes, one in each corner, to mount it, and I put the screws through and just screwed them into plastic wall plugs. The plastic wall plugs sat in between the fins of the amp perfectly and held the fan in place, yet I could remove it easily for cleaning etc.
Some folks just cable-tie the fan on, if it's in a vehicle, it will stop it falling off.

i was thinking about plastic but I was worried about the heat,but then again there is the cooling I suppose ,which it the whole point. the plugs thing seems a good idea. Ta

You shouldn't need to add additional cooling to it. Hot to the touch doesn't mean its getting too hot. You can get third degree burns touching something for a second which is still 30-40C below the max temperature the components can work to so if you can put your finger on it and stand it to be there its not too hot and doesn't need more cooling.
