Nice to finally hear from a 590 owner.

Can you PLEASE tell us Keith, what the 590 really does deliver over and above the 570?

I also run a 590 as you know Steve and to be fair the 590 is a damn good set. There were reports of low SSB power but if you use a
peak hold meter one finds it was never really an issue as it does indeed pump out just over a 100w.The filtering in the 590 i have to
say is great and weak signals can be pulled out of the noise quite easily. The menu is simple to get used to and is very similar to the
570.However the 590 does require setting up properly to your voice and can take a little time to get right, but well worth it as when its
set up its sounds great (so im told).

The 570dg certainly hasnt the best filtering and not as good as my yaesu 450d but it is adequate, good to see the 590 has stepped up in that department as im sure i will upgrade one day and the 590 could be on the cards.....

I don't doubt that the 590 is a better ( improved on the 570) radio.
Is it 6 to 700 quid better, I don't know.
