I need to replace the panel on my Dell u2711. The panel it uses is an LM270WQ2 http://www.panelook.com/LM270WQ2-SLA1_L ... _5000.html), but I hate the anti-glare coating on this panel; so rather than having to remove the AG coating and put a glass protective cover over the panel, I'd like to replace it with an earlier glossy model, the LM270WQ1 http://www.panelook.com/LM270WQ1-SDE5_L ... 16010.html). The brightness and lamps are different (LED vs CCFL), so I'm guessing the power consumption is probably different as well. Is this a bad idea? Or might it work?

I just realized that the first model uses a displayport interface, which probably means there's a pretty low chance of inter-compatibility. How about the third model:http://www.panelook.com/LM270WQ3-SLA1_L ... 18518.html

I only suggest this because it's still in production and would probably be easier to find.
