Week 7 bowl projections: Make room for Notre Dame in College Football Playoff
The 2018 college football schedule is nearly halfway complete, meaning we're one week closer to the 40-game 2018 bowl season. Sporting News, of course, has projections for all of those bowls.

This week, Notre Dame crashes the College Football Playoff projections. We have the Irish taking on Alabama in the Capital One Orange Bowl, and the matchup between Clemson and Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl Classic stays the same. Georgia is out for now, but the Bulldogs would be ranked higher than the Irish if the first Playoff rankings were released this week. We understand that. Texas and Florida also crashed our New Year's Day Six picks.

Here are our projections for every bowl game, with a familiar national championship game.

yes, it would ….. especially  , if both QB's continue to learn and grow better during the season … the big difference between the Buckeyes offense from last year to this year is they can score points and move the ball in a variety of ways …. my biggest concern is the Buckeyes defense … while I think our defensive line along with Clemson's defensive line are the two best D/L's in the country , our secondary is still suspect , and needs to improve if we are to have a chance of winning a NC ….

Getting Bosa back changes our Defense some.  Our young guys are getting good experience in the defensive secondary, but I'm not sure I agree with Grinch's teaching methods.  We no longer locate the ball and just play through the hands of the receiver...when we used to be ball Hawks.  Ward,Lattimore, all translate to the NFL game because of it..I'm not so sure anymore.

his team reminds me a lot of the 2014 team … the question is how well will they gel by the end of the season …

ND showed resilience today. After Pitt returned the second half kick all the way for a TD for a two TD lead I thought that was that. Good teams find a way to win I guess.

Now I am worried for UGA. I think their offense took the wrong bus.

Fromm looked completely lost.  LSU did something that confused the heck out of him.  Smart and the staff coached a terrible game, and that was really the worst part.

Sorry about the loss man. That was the worst I have seen UGA’s offense in awhile. They just never got going.

the playoff picture is starting to look crazy … and could get a lot crazier depending on which teams win or lose during the month of November …

Harbaugh is going to throw everything he has at your Buckeyes.  That game is job security for him.  I would be nervous too.

OSU is beat to shit...but that is not the excuse for the gaping problems with our defense. The middle is wide open to slants...the LB s are playing too close to the line to drop into coverage...and tackling has been horrific. We make adjustments at the half..but this defense is frustrating. The talent is their with 4 and 5 star kids throughout..but I'm starting to question the scheme and alignment.

As for the offense...scrap the RPO...Haskins is a machine....we aren't fooling anyone into believing Haskins will run..so why waste the fake handoff...let that guy chip on the edge...and hit the flat..which pulls a guy out of the middle.

It's the time of year...where the cream rises to the top. If the D can gel...we will be in great shape..if not..we are in shootouts with MSU and Michigan.

Reminded me a lot of the first Auburn game last year.  Hopefully it causes some changes in philosophy like last year.
