I worry a lot about the lowcountry especially around Charleston.  It has grown so much in that area since Hugo and a lot of the new growth has been in flood plains.  If you are familiar at all with Charleston you already know it has one of the worst drainage systems on the planet.  streets flood all the time downtown at high tide.  A good storm surge is going to drown that place.

Charleston has been flooded before and survived.  The key is to get the people out of there.  My inlaws down in Edisto finally agreed to leave yesterday, and these are people with fancy cars they can drive back to their fancy house in Atlanta.  I'm sure it's tough for the bottom half of the economic ladder.
