Game Day week 2

Here we go again.    All I care about today is looking for the adjustments UT makes on offensive line especially to replace Kennedy who is out for the season.  The adjustments we make the next two weeks will probably determine if we have a 4 or 6 win season.

Wisconsin is losing to New Mexico at the end of the 1st quarter?   Interesting.

I am back in my room and going between UGA and Tennesse.  The gap between those two teams is huge.  Our offensive line is terrible just as I feared.  ETSU is in the backfield.   We can not even block a lower tier FCS defensive line.   I truly think we are a four win team again.

Both Georgia and Tennessee have taken off.  No contest.  The only interesting thing right now is Ole Miss.  They are really struggling with Southern Illinois

Miss State has everything they need to be a title contender this year except a QB.

They have the Defensive line in spades.  Lots of national championship teams have had less talented defenses.  Certainly this D-Line is good enough and it's three deep in talent.

My Biggest question was WR's but now it 's the QB.  Fitz only hit about 30% if his passes today. I know our RB got 211 on the ground and Fitz another 159 on a top ten type team againsf the run last year but that's not going to be enough.

This was his first game back from the injury and he did run for 159 today.  Thing is, he could have gone for 200 plus if he had tried.  He actually ran avoiding contact and sliding early.  He has the arm strength to flick it 70 yards but the dude just has no touch on the deep ball.  The WR's are looking pretty good, they open behind the D but if the ball his 20ft over they head, no shot.

This team has a long way to go though to put it all together.  They have a stretch of 5 weeks four games in late Sept into Oct that they have to be ready for starting with Florida, then Auburn, LSU & Tex Ags.  There are a couple games before then to get it worked out but this dude is a 5th year Sr.  If he hasn't got it now, probably won't happen.

How many games can they win now?  I am at 8 pretty sure, 9 tops but if he can get that grove going with the deep pass then 10 or 11 wins are possible.

I really like your team Bulldog.  I agree with 8-9.

Clemson is playing in about as bad of conditions as I can imagine.  The rain, the crazy crowd, and yet they keep making big plays.  I don't blame Dabo at all for going for it here at the end of the half.

Who kicks an onside kick to Hunter Renfro? There is no way he drops it.

Congrats Merritt. That was a tough one in terrible conditions.

Clemson D was choking late in that game..they were getting picked apart.

It's a nice win on the road...and both teams should grow from it.

How about them Dawgs?

SC rushed for only 54 yards while UGA had 271 on the ground.

Good question.  I didn't watch the game, but from what I've read UK beat them in the trenches.

My respect grew more for Jimbo after his loss to Clemson …. he took a lesser talented, under manned A& M team and almost upset Clemson …. I am beginning to think Jimbo can really coach …

I thought he coached a great game too.  It really makes you wonder what has fallen of the rails at FSU.  They really struggled with Samford yesterday.  Maybe it is the idiotic turnover backpack:

That Tennessee trash can does not look quite as dumb yet.

Speaking of A&M, did you guys see that punter last night.  You have to be pretty special to get a mention as a punter but that sumbitch was punting over 70 yards last night.  Wow.

Samford turned the ball over 5 times.  They cut that to 2 turnovers and they win.  That's how bad FSU is.  They need 5 turnovers to beat Samford.

I think the future looks bright for Tennessee …. they just need to give their new coach some time ….  maybe not next year , or the year after …. but in 5 years , I can see Tennessee competing for the SEC East title …..

I am happy with what I am seeing so far. The team is well coached with few mental errors. The freshman look ok. It is going to take a few years like you say but I am fine at this point just going back to 8-9 win seasons like we had consistently under Fulmer.
