A good defense lets you do that. Once they get a lead Venables does his thing and they chalk up another W.Clemson comes out HOT and dictates the game from there.
Clemson fans like to bash KB's ability to throw the ball but look at these stats in the First half of games (I put it on Hale's tweet so you may have seen it already)brown dog wrote: Might as well put this here.

Jimmys and Joes make the Xs and Os a lot easierbrown dog wrote: defense is more about talent instead of x's and o's. There is no spread or air raid to help a less talented team field a lethal defense. Sure, coaching matters, but it can only do so much.
Tennessee for example doesn't have the talent right now, Pruitt will scheme and coach as much as possible, but the Vols won't be able to shut many teams down like Bama does.
I didn't intend to be a dick for pointing that out. It was more of a WTF? Everyone in that athletic department should be fired. It takes effort for a school like Tennessee to have the same record as a school like Vandy.DocVOLiday wrote: Bad times to be a Tennessee fan. I did talk last night for most of the night with my friend who is the CFO of the athletic department. The take home I got was Pruitt is no nonsense and pushing the kids hard this summer. He does not care if they quit he just wants the kids who are willing to put in the time. A good start I think. We may not have the most talent but we should be scrappy and well conditioned.

Pruitt is a machine on the trail...he will always recruit well and there is new energy in Knoxville to go with their facilitiesDocVOLiday wrote: Let's give Pruitt a little credit. He walked into an absolute dumpster fire. To be at #13 right now is not shabby.
Also he is a solid coach so he will get as much as possible out of the players on the defensive side.DocVOLiday wrote: Let's give Pruitt a little credit. He walked into an absolute dumpster fire. To be at #13 right now is not shabby.
