SOUTH END

The realm of the average Joe stretches almost all the way along the canal, minus the portion that is occupied by East Side, and borders both on East Side and West Side, while it's separated from North End by the canal. Housing here ranges from the upper middle-class housing in west, bordering on West Side, to the cheap, lower middle-class to lower-class housing in far East, in the part of South End that is popularly called "No Man's Land". Housing here can be both apartments and houses.
