I need to buy some roller rockers for my new build. Will the 429/460 roller rockers work? They are less expensive and seem to have more of a selection than the 351C's.

Thanks.

Yes, they will.

Good day to all! Well as I have allways understood, the 351 cleveland and the 429/460 engines share these same parts: rocker arms, distributor, lifters, and I think even the timing chain set up. Am I right? My stepdad is all about Big Block Chevy stuff and he said back in the day, it use to be a performance upgrade to put BOSS 302 rockers on a BBC because they are 1.73 ratio instead of chevy 1.7. I've heard you can run BBC rockers on a Cleveland, but when compared side by side, they look real diffent to me.

There is a great write up you in the can search for comparing Chevy rockers and Cleveland's . Long story/short, they do not interchange. Different shape/geometry.

If you're planning to modify the rocker pedestals for 7/16" studs & guide plates give the Yella Terra YT-6321 rocker arms a consideration.

The Yella Terra YT-6321 rocker arm may look "pricey" up front when compared to the standard push-rod guided arm, but they don't require studs, guide plates, poly-locks or heat treated push-rods. Once you add up $400 or more for the conventional roller rocker arms plus all the additional stuff you need the price difference is not that bad ... some guys feel its break-even.

If you shop around the internet you should find the Yella Terra YT-6321 rocker arms for under $650.

Glad to hear I can buy the 460 rockers. I dont doubt the Yella are great rockers, but overkill for my engine build.

I'm probably looking at either Comp or ProComp rollers (under $200) that will fit under the stock 351c valve covers.

Is anyone running the ProComp Aluminum under stock covers?

Don't wast your $ on ProComp when you can buy lifetime warranty made in USA rockers that work well.

Mick, Would the ProComp steel rockers be better than the aluminum ones?
I was thinking that either one would outperform the stock stamp steel rockers. Maybe theyre not that goodI dont know.

I'm running Harland Sharp on my Windsor and they're working great. Will the HS rollers work under stock 351c valve covers?
