I just bought one of these intakes at a swap meet today. Unfortunately the center has been cut out and a 4150 adapter has been fabricated. The work done to it seems decent. The question is Do these intakes work OK on street cars? My current combo is

72 Torino
351C with TRW flat tops
4V OC heads
Blue Thunder intake
Crower 15388 Dur @ .050 Lift: 238°/242° Gross Lift: .524/.533 LSA: 112°
Toploader 4 speed
3.50 trac lok

Just wondering if anybody has tried one of these buddy bar intakes on a street car and how did it work?

mine's been opened up too, word is that it helps. in this pic you can see that a PO has drilled & tapped a 4150 pattern on the carb pad but i think it's sideways, wonder how that worked out, maybe they used a 90* adapter?

what i've been curious about is why i see the 9424 number used a lot but i've only seen manifolds with 9425 on them?

there'll be phantoms, there'll be fires on the road... and the white man dancing

There's another version of this intake that's drilled and machined for a 4150 and has less plenum volume, it may have better street manners. (It looks like ford used the same casting for both, just machined the carb pad differently and opened up the plenum on the 4500 version)
