new one has no oil slot too feed through rod bolt for oil up top. What's up with that?

of oiling the opposing cylinder wall via the squirt hole has/had fallen into disfavor long ago and not just among Ford engines. Today, virtually no rod bearings have the matching hole so running the newer bearings w/o the hole is fine.

Btw, I was trying to find a reply to the very same & recent question from the FE Forum from Barry Rabotnik, owner of Survival Motorsports of MI, a noted FE engine builder and PHR Engine Masters participant, as FE's also had the squirt hole but modern bearings do not. Could not find it but Barry is quite accessible at
