It took two seconds (so dont say i have no life) but a much closer inspection would reveal they are NOT the same color.
You can see that in the black boxes outside of the shadow have been un-uniformly colored with a single color. You can see behind it that there is texture to the original boxes, but the cover paint is a single color. The exact same color that was used on the center square (B). A test of the textured A and B would reveal they are NOT the same color.

You're wrong Snipper, I dealt with this whole optical illusion about 2 or 3 monthes ago. I tested it, they stand up to the test. They look the same, and the color values are the same, as are the texture values.
