You've all must've heard about the fire in the power plant at New York already. Caused a damn chain reaction all the way up to here in Toronto!
Couldn't work today because of it, shit...need money. Life was funny here, looking at ppl going crazy. People calling each other like crazy too blocking all phonelines.
Lost electricity at 4:15 pm. Got them back at 3:06 am

Lucky ass.. I didnt get my power back until around 6am.
And I sleep durring the day, so I was awake all night.
With now power. No light. Nothing but tetris, and a crappy little tiny portable radio. Tetris got old, and annoying, really fast, because holding a flashlight in your mouth is rather uncomfortable.
I spent three hours straight listening to people call in saying "My power is back on!". Okay, not everyone said that, some still had no power...
So yeah, I felt a bit crazy.. if I'd had any chalk, my walls would be something to photograph and stick on a website.

We had a blackout durring the winter actually. It sucked.
No, I didn't get stranded, fortunately. I was heading to sleep just when the power went out, so I was safe at home. Lisa however, was downtime with her son and mother, doing that hippo tours thingy.. they got stuck almost having to walk all the way from young and lawrence or something (they eventually caught a bus), to union station in hopes of using GO transit only to be told not to enter...
There were some cab fiascos too, all they could do at union was start walking east, after about an hour they saw a cab and flagged it. Well the cab was on the other side, so it veered towards the far sidewalk and slowed a bit, in order to prepare to U-Turn. As the cab was slowing, a chick and her boyfriend ripped open the door and jumped in, the cab wasn't even fully stopped, then u-turned around to park infront of them. Lisa freaked out, and she made lots of physical threats to this girl from outside the cab... the driver wouldnt start driving, he was waiting for them to get out or something I think. Finally, in addition to Lisa yelling and slamming her hand on the car, etc... the driver said "They did flag me first.", and the chick/bf got out... and they finally got home.
A friend of my Father's got stuck in an elevator. Not for very long though, it took about 15-20 minutes for the firemen to get there, and when they pried the doors open and said she had to wait for the elevator guys to come lift her out, she started freaking out and made them help her out. So in total, it was only about 30 minutes that she was in there, but it was pitch black, small, and REALLY HOT.
I live in the DT/west end pretty much, at queen and dufferin.

Actually, doraemi, I did. Last summer. And the summer before that. You didn't hear about it on the news? The whole California power fiasco, not having enough power, having to buy power from like Colorado or whatever, and the rolling blackouts. OMG rolling blackouts were so fkn ghey, in order to make sure everyone has power, they'd sometimes shut off power to a grid, and rotate it to another grid in an hour or so. So there you go, I have already experienced it for myself.
