Oh yeah, I remember you Gestahr. I had a similar problem, think I ended up with a second account and then gained access to my old one.

This is a laugh. 4 of us old Cyberhippies still lurking here almost 20 years on O_o?!

Snipper cr, I have no idea how many companies this board has been passed through... it feels like a lot!

Holy crap. Why are you guys still here? That's kinda neat, actually. But yeah.
I thought I forgot my password to this site since it was before I used a password manager, but I got it.

It's funny. I made that post in 2015 saying, "I'm still alive." Who knew that I would nearly kill myself in a motorcycle crash a year and four months after that post. Oops.

      So how's everyone doing?

Woah, what are the odds... and wow, glad you recovered from the crash :O

I'm doing okay!  Everybody else?  (I'll be sure to check back next year for replies, heh)

          Hey MoonKnight,

That's awful man! Hope you've made a full recovery. Ugh... It's so easy to take our health for granted!

I'm well. I was living in London the past 6 years and I've just moved the family back to N. Ireland. In other news, I'm a father now! O_o! Gulp. Feeling old!

I keep wondering how they're going to top the latest disaster. I'm amazed that there's always something new! Hope you're doing well Moonlight 😉

Thanks JD, yeah I am doing OK. Honestly things have not changed drastically over the past several months. I'm in an "essential industry" so I've continued to go into the office and work Monday-Friday throughout the pandemic. Man, the freeways in March and April were near empty. I should have recorded footage on my helmet camera but I've been so lazy about recording.

My roommates were starting to go nuts a little bit. One of them finally got to see his girlfriend a couple weeks ago after not being able to see each other since March.

How are things going in Northern Ireland? How's dad life treating you?

Wow this is incredible. I was laying in bed listening to FF music and something made me randomly think about CHVLO. I actually went on internet archive first to try and read the forums and remember all the things we discussed and argued about here. I didn't expect to find the forum still available and active let alone a new thread with recent posts.

Crazy to think about all the things that went on in this community good and bad. How many of us are still here or popping back once in a while?

I'm 33 now. I worked 7 years at a desk job doing AutoCAD. I thought it was what I would have loved to do when I started. But ended up hating it so much I hated myself. I quit when I met up with my friends at my 10 year high school reunion and one was doing jiu jitsu. At the time I just finished reading a book called the art of learning which I was reading to improve my skills and fighting games since I was competing actively in street fighter iv. Instead it inspired me to try martial arts so after meeting my old friend I started doing jiu jitsu with him and now I love grappling. (Also dabbed in boxing and muay Thai). I teach kids classes regularly and I am thinking of possibly running an academy someday. I also do bike courier work on the side for cash since I quit my full time job.

BTW I am still in the #CHV irc channel on gamesurge. Never leaving. Join me if you wish. Or perhaps a Facebook group or discord to net all the lost cyper hippies returning and popping in once in a while would be a great idea to regroup the community?

Also you're probably wondering "how is he posting on his original account". I still use the same password today. Well at least a derivative and variations of it today.

Forgot to mention I used go under the alias johncooke and majorcooke before that (on actual CHV forums). Not sure when I changed it to rkassim during the time this community was active.

I also have some archive CHV footage on my harddrive still. Not much but maybe I'll upload some to youtube later for viewing if it is not already there.

Hey man! I remember you. Glad to hear you've found your calling. That's great.

It's pretty crazy how so much on the Internet has been lost to the ether, yet here is this messageboard, which I created on ezboard, which then got transferred to Yuku apparently circa 2008, and then got transferred to Tapatalk in 2017. Nearly 20 years on the Internet and everything seems to be intact as far as I can tell, minus all of the images that used to be hosted on ezboard.

I guess Delilah Darkheart tried to get people to move to a new forum at chv.gameanon.com according to a post she made in the announcements forum in 2004, but I never did check that out. No idea how successful that was since Internet Archive has essentially nothing archived of that forum and it's all been nuked since.

I deactivated my Facebook account several years back, but a Discord server isn't a bad idea. I don't often use it but I have it running in the background all the time on my home computer, so why not.
