Finally! After many hours and several endings later Silent Hill 2 is finished. With the new sequel it seems like one of my favorite series of all time has indeed gotten better. What was great about the first one was how incredibly disturbing it was. And with a new system Silent Hills evil vision has gone totally insane on the Playstation2. In the game you play as James Sunderland a couple years ago poor James lost his wife to a disease. Now he receives a letter from his dead wife saying to meet him at Silent Hill. So of course, he heads over to the already infested town Alright, so Silent Hill 2 has its plot holes but the good thing is that its scary. Its even scarier than Resident Evil 2 and thats saying a lot.

GAMEPLAY:
Silent Hill 2 is almost identical in control to that of the first. Your general survival horror controls but the game does have control options so you can get your preference. One odd problem is how easy Silent Hill 2 is. If youre expecting to get your ass beaten in the first boss think again. In fact while the game is somewhat long but you may breeze thru it because of over simplistic combat. While the puzzles are interesting some of them are a little odd. The games opening may also make some gamers be a little bored. It takes a little while before the game really picks up. Its a nice little Alfred Hitchcock fear that is really nice. This game is scary, and the cut scenes that go with the game is very awesome.

GRAPHICS:
Players may or may not like the noise filter that has been placed over the games screen. The good side to it is that it can be turned off after you beat the game. The noise filter is hard to explain. Its a grainy filter that is placed over the screen, giving the game an excellent look while in motion. The game had amazing graphics, but its very doubled sided. The outdoor environments are pretty lame, except for the amazing fog effect, which is not used to hide pop-up but to make the game a lot nicer. Enemies are even creepier; they literally look like pieces of skin put together. Very nice.

SOUND:
Ambient sounds are nice but the voice acting iswell not MGS quality. Its okay, but its not really near excellent. The Ambient noises are well done thou.
VIDIOTS TIME TO PICK OUT THE PROBLEMS:
Okay voice acting, the combat can get repetitive. Even on a hard difficulty the game does feel a little to easy. Outdoor environments are not as impressive as the indoor areas.
FINAL VERDICT:
A well-done sequel with a lot of scares, other than those problems the game is pretty sweet. Scary, and very polished even thou the outdoor environments are not as detailed than the inside areas. Try playing the next time you get the chance, its one for the really good games on Ps2.

Yesss.. the voice acting is not so good. Heh, I've been cringing from it, and a wrinkle of the nose here and there.
So far it's not as scary as I expected... but, the environment provokes enough motivation to do a full turnaround lookout to be labeled as "creepy"...
Anyway, I'm enjoying this game... ::grin::
