Wow.. what a great game.. Graphics, levels, controls, gameplay.. Awesome! Only a few gripes.. The storyline, and the stories behind the drivers. Now I don't know why the developers couldn't use the same storylines for Mr. Grimm, YellowJacket, and all the old cars, because it seems like shit to give them new stories. Mr. Grimm.. whats this?! He is a Vietnam soldier? In the other games, he was always the Grimm Reaper. Thats why his name is Mr. Grimm! They totally screwed over the storyline with this insane asylum thing. I bet other fans of this game are peeved with the characters stories too! I don't care if you think these kidns of games don't need good story lines, but I am a picky gamer. I am used to the old twisted Metal. Thanks

Ah, how car combat has evolved over the years Well... not really: -p. The first Twisted Metal was an amazing game, nothing has really has been able to compare to it or its sequel ever since. Yeah, so Vigilante8 was sweet, but did it offer anything new? No, in fact the last car combat game that offered anything new was Twisted Metal 2. So, now that the same guys that did the first two games are back at it, does there new darker Twisted Metal game offer a new evolution on car combat? Has any massive new features have been added over the past four some years? Um, well Not reallyBut that doesnt mean its a bad game
A smart move was done early in development in Twisted Metal: Black that was to change every character in the game into darker twisted versions. Based in an alternate universe, characters like Sweet Tooth and Mr. Grim have nothing to do with the characters they were in the old series. For example Mr. Grim is not a hell spawn as he was in the earlier games but a Vietnam war vet that drives around with the skull of his best friend that died in the war How he died is for you to find out Each character has a story mode which has three cut-scenes amazingly done that you watch during certain points in the game. As you get to see how crazy and insane they all are. Each character happens to be at a asylum which is taken over by a mad man named Calypso, who frees them and sends them into a tournament. If they win, they can get whatever they want.
GAMEPLAY:
All right, so the game play is still the same. Its death match against eight or so cars supped up with unbelievable weapons. So, we have had that a lot and its not that original BUT it is even more fun in this new chapter of the TM series. Saying this game is fast is an understatement; you will probably die the first time you play. By using the two analog sticks to control your vehicles you can do amazing precise turns and literally 360 turns flying in the air. You can even press down on the sticks for speed thrusters that give even more depth to game play. Each character has his or her different vehicle, each one requires a bit of different skill to master, each also has there own special attack. Sweet Tooths is probably the best as he turns his ice cream truck into a giant mech. Like I said it is insane. Levels are much bigger and interactive, houses will be run thru and bulldozed by stray fire often giving an interesting atmosphere to the game. But like the last TM games, things do get repetitive. And alas, there are many cheap deaths. To make matters worse the bosses are unrealistically unfair. A large belt in the stomach in the game play department there.
Graphics:
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp TM Blacks graphics are nice. The sky is very rich and the arenas are beyond depressing and gothic. I loved the weather effects in the game; the rain really beats down on you. The cars are well animated with missiles flying off of them and the CG cut scenes rival that of Squares. Overall the graphics were very impressive. Really making TM Black stand out.

Sound:
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Good voice acting carries the game along, but some washed sound effects for bullets and explosions get to you. Not to say they are bad, just average. Maybe its just me, but the rocket sound seemed like the same in the first TM The music is excellent thou.
VIDIOTS TIME TO PICK OUT THE PROLEMS:
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Basically TM: Black is an update of TM2. Game play really has not changed in the past five games (TM Black being the 5th) and I feel a little pissed. I think TM game play needs to EVOLVE.
FINAL VERDICT:
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Not bad, best TM game. At the back of the manual there is a segment which reads COMING SOON: TWISTED METAL BLACK: ONLINE, see you guys there! Oh yeah, I beat every game with every character WITHOUT CHEAT CODES. That itself is hard, try it.
