The FMV is nice and the graphics are slick but I can't help but be cheesed off by the story. It's so gay and annoying, especially how its similar to Evangelion except that Evangelion did it fifty times better.
Despite how gay Leo is, I'm glad to say that I enjoy playing this game. Even if I'm fighting the same three mechs over and over again, it's fun.
However, there are some points of the game where I have no clue what I'm supposed to do, and thus have sadly resorted to walkthrough.
For example, you are supposed to blow up the generator in City 1 with the Sniper. Once I got Sniper, I had absolutely no clue where I was supposed to shoot.
I shot like everywhere until I wasted all my ammo. I then got some more Sniper ammo and had to refer to a walkthrough and found you were supposed to shoot these tiny white dots that I never noticed before.
D'oh.
Anyway, fun game. By the way, the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo is nice. Too bad it was so short, now I can't wait for the actual game.

I thought ZOE was a great game even in storyline. Game play was great the game was so damn good. Controlls areeasy to learn (REALLY EASY), and the game really shows the characters feelings. Like Leo who never changed, he never wanted to fight through the whole game and was never convinced though those people (can't remember names) tried to force him to fight thier battles (didn't just give it).-End Message****MAJORCOOKE****

i thought the story of ZOE was a little more original than being a mere evangelion copy.
BECAUSE
it added character and focus on ADA, NOT on leo. man, *I* was extremely frustrated by Leo as well. yes, leo is gay, and for all i care, leo was ripped right out of tokimeki memorial, even in the way he looks.
but ADA, man... i LOVE this concept of perfect AI, and ADA was it. do you remember what the first thing she says is? it's "good morning". i don't know. maybe i get too fixated onto things like these, but i loved ZOE because of ADA, and i liked how the story ended on... wait... i shouldn't say it here. ^^

Let's all say it: "We hate Leo's guts."
Anyway, I thought that, aside from character issues (which I know play a big part in a game, but never mind), ZOE was great fun. In one of the cities, I think it's City 2, there are little helicopters flying all around, anyone notice those? They're hard as hell to hit with your weapons, but just crash into them with Jehuty and they go flaming to the ground! HAHA okay, I got a little carried away with the whole feeling of God-like power.
Anyway, I'm still only partway through the game, mainly 'cause I set it to Very Hard my first time through. How do you beat the second boss? His first form is easy as crap, I can beat that down with no loss in life, but his second form knocked me around so badly each time I played. Fifteen times I fought that guy, I even got some more ammo for my weapons, but he still kicks the sh!t out of me each and every time!

I just got ZOE yesterday, and I'm kinda disappointed that it's so short. Of course, I'm going to play it again at higher difficulty levels, but the game just feels a bit short.
I have to agree with everyone else, Leo is a fscking dumbass. I just wanted to smack the fsck out of him and say "You are the only one that can save the colony, and you're only thinking about yourself?!"
The controls in ZOE are superb. No learning curve whatsoever. You go in, you pick up the controls like it's second nature. Graphics are pretty nice, too.
Now is it just me, or does ADA go through some sort of humanizing change after the anti-virus is executed? She says "I am sorry for the inconveinence.", while in an earlier conversation, "You're just a heartless machine!" "That is correct."
So there's my US$0.02 :-)
