Seeing that I am a big fan of Metal Gear Solid I decided that I would pick up VR Missions a few days ago. Like lots of games it has its pros and cons, and I hear most people talking about the cons more, but hey, for $10.00 cdn, I can't really go wrong. I'm now at 99.6% after about a week of gameplay so the game is kinda short, but still somewhat fun.
Pro's:
1. The Ninja Mission That has got to be most peoples favorite mission, as well as mine, and it offers a good twist to an otherwise somewhat boring game.
2. I found the bonus material pretty interesting, like the photo shoots . The bonus movies are a nice addition, especially the 1996 E3 Promo for MGS, I was amazed at how many things were changed between then and the final release.
3. The Mystery missions are pretty much easy, and laughingly funny, but they give the game life. Being a fan of MGS I also noticed that there are little things here and there that point to the original game.

Con's:
1. This was supposed to be more of a strategy game, but where strategy leaves off I find myself relying a lot on trial and error. All I can say is stupid #@%^ Nikita missions, I really don't like trying something 50 times before I get it right.
2. The ah, missions can get pretty boring at times, as well as frustrating too. There is a fair variety of missions, 300 to be exact, and there are a few missions that are unique and cool, but after a while they all tend to look the same.
3. There isn't really much to the game, and it doesn't really hold a high replay factor. Once I beat all the missions and polish off my times on the time trials there isn't much to capture my interest anymore.
Overall, this game is pretty much middle of the road. For hardcore MGS fans like me it is good just for a Nostalgia factor, and improving my skills in Sniping, C4, and neck-breaking . For those who didn't like MGS then stay away from this game, you will be bored as hell with it.
Music: 3/5
Controls: 4/5
Graphics: 4/5
Fun Factor: 2/5
Replay Facror: 1/5
Overall: 6/10

They could have really made something out of this disk if they could have been bothered cooking up a few extra locations just so that U could use the ninja elseware, that was the best part of the VR missions for me. I acually only played MGS for the first time when ***MIRCROSOFT*** published it for the PC with better graphics, but it was basically the japanese version, MGS Integral. Love it!!!Jed
