Wow, am I dissapointed. I know the game has been out for a while but I just recently had time to rent it.
Ouch.
Max Payne was a great game. It captured the feeling of a lot of action movies. Dead To Rights tries to get the feeling of alot of action movies. It dosent work.
In Dead to Rights you play as Jack Slate, a guy who was set up for a murder he did not commit. Yea, its pretty original :P
Jack had an auto target feature similar to Syphon Filter, and he can also dive around like Max. Thats cool. You can even disarm badguys by pressing "B". And the disarm attacks are awsome.
That are the only really good things. Everything else in Dead to Rights is crap. :P
A poor camera. There is also kung-fu style gameplay. Its bad. How bad? Really bad. Punchs and kicks are done blindly most of the time. There is also some amazing cheap hits from enemies. Crap, what else? Enemies are stupid, the mini games are...boring...and stupid (except the stripper one
)))) ) And christ what did I leave out?
ITS HARD.
How hard? VERY HARD. Im not just talking about it being difficult the game is almost impossable. There is no difficulty setting, and some simple tweaking could have easily helped this.
Im not against hard games. But this is ridiculous. Its sad thou because there are some really cool levels in Dead to Rights, but players probably wont even bother playing to get to there.
There is no voice movements during cutscences. And, uh, the story is pretty crappy. Its predictable.
It would be great to play an action game that combined maxpayne style shooting and kung-fu. But Dead to Rights doesnt do it.
Crap, Crap, Crap, im pissed.
Especailly considering I was really looking forward to this.
BLEH!
