hmm...
okay, I don't usually take part in discussions, but i think there's a misunderstanding here.
it's not like we DON'T WANT TO do this.
but, maintaining CHV takes up TIME, and A LOT of time. each staff member spends at least 40 hours a week on this project, and that's for ALL FOUR MEMBERS.
now, granted that we don't mind the time we put into this, we DO mind that our parents are still paying for our living. ALL of us are over 21. i've tried to neglect this fact but, you know.... that's pretty pathetic.
can we keep this at least as a hobby? well... i *guess* we could. but then we'd have no life other than this (i mean, how do you find 40 hours of freetime WITH another job at hand?).
and the no.1 factor in the game is that the site costs A LOT to maintain. all the media files, all the shows... they cost a whole-of-a-lot of money to serve.
a lot of people have emailed us with their own "reasons" why CHV should be brought back.
now... maybe I should have made it a little clearer, but we were looking for reasons for US (staff@chv), and not YOU (members).
I've already spent the last four years working on this, and all these years, it was for YOU. "all for the viewers." but the ugly side of CHV finally caught on, and now our parents have all lost money, and we have lost their trust (to some degree).
WE need a reason to continue. we need to figure out how to make a living out of this if we are to continue. we KNOW you love CHV. WE love it, too. I mean, it's EVERYTHING *WE* wanted in a site. we BUILT IT that way. so don't tell us how it is good for YOU.
we need to know how it will be good for US. without THAT "compelling reason", we simply cannot continue.
for the record tho, I think a million dollars would do the job of motivating us. and i'm not even kidding. calculating the amount of money to run this site for another year... it comes out to almost million dollars.
so... haha... anybody have a rich friend or uncle?
...the scary part is that i'm not even kidding about this.
we have a million serious reasons to drop the project. we need you to give us one good reason why we shouldn't. (or better yet, a million)
