Yeah, my diabolical plan to make Jim watch non-bastardized anime.

Jim
I hardly consider the Bebop dub "bastardized".

I believe both are equally impressive, but yes, overall, I do prefer the english dub over the Japanese track.
Some are excellent in both cases. But others, such as Faye or Ed, seem to "click" much better for me on the English track than the Japanese one. For example, the Japanese Ed is funny. But the English one is hillarious.
I'll explain my full reasons some other time.

English Ed is a horribly bastardized, generic example of what the average american thinks a kid should sound like. I swear, they use the same god-damn VA for 90% of the child roles in anime. And Faye wasn't good, she was, again, terribly average. The ONLY reason the Bebop dub is so glorified is because it's AVERAGE. When you place mediocrity against a backdrop of shit, it starts to look a whole lot better than it really is; and that's not opinion, that's fact. B-A-S-T-A-R-D-I-Z-E-D.
Edit: Sorry if I seem somewhat rabid about this, BTW, I just hate to see characters I love ripped apart and re-sewn together so they have mass appeal in the American market.
