My friend say's he downloads Ps2 games, burns them on CD's and then plays them on Ps2 via modchip. This all sounds nice and good, BUT what about DVD formatted games. Who here use's modchips to play burned Ps2 games? Is it worth it?

in a word: 'no'
it totally voids ur warranty on ur ps2.. not really worth the risk.. plus, do u like the sound of someone hackin up ur PS2 to stick a chip in it? hRmZz.. if u really wanna play 'back-ups' *cough* as they're called, get an external mod system for PS2 like NeoKey or something... only about $30 and its safer then opening up ur ps2MRk MRK n FnK Mz

neo key still requires you to solder one wire from the usb port to somewhere on the mainboard. about the dvd.. they have dvd silvers selling all around hk.. exactly the same as an authentic dvd but not.. i used to think mod chipping was the way to go on the ps2 but i dont think its such a good idea anymore.. with sony's new plan to erase piracy by their online verification methods and plus GT3 real version would not work on modded jap machines. sony can crack mods like eggs. i say screw mods and copies, pay those developers what they really deserve and enjoy games how they really should be. imho through piracy, games no longer become valuable and fun they are really just for collection purposes.

yeah, id have to agree with Miso.. back in 'the day' when piracy was my thing, id get 100's of games and never play thru them all.. i just had too many, so i never really appreciated the games. if u pay full price, u WANT to get ur moneys worth out of it and u get a better experience.. good point misoMRk MRK n FnK Mz
