Finally, a fighting game with depth will grace the PS2. Yeah, thats right, TTT and DOA2 wish they had 1/16 of the depth that CvS2 have. Guilty Gear X is also going to be awesome.
I have no problem with games like MGS2 of FFX, in fact I kind of like them, but they have nothing to offer once I beat them. And the charecters just don't shut up. If I want to see a good story, i'll pop in an anime DVD, if I want a good GAME, i'll throw CvS2 into my amplifier looking, wanabe DVD player that thinks it's a computer.
Glory to 2-D!!!!!!

Yes, definately agree with the comment about a "fighter with more depth", though I think that games like DOA and TTT also require at least a moderate amount of talent to master. I mean, it may look easy, but it's not. Anyway, it might be a problem that the PS2 is designed more for 3D games and not 2D, but I think the game will certainly bring back all those gamers the PS lost because they went to the DC, where all the decent 2D games were...

That is true wadoko, but i've played several 3-D games. I belive games are made to be fun, and 3-D fighters acomplish that. However, 2-D games manege to be as fun as hell, and still have a lot of depth.
Even Project Justice that contains 2-D elements, fails to capture my imagination because of the rather shallow gameplay.
About the V-ram PS2 issue, its quickly becoming less of a hassle for developers. Capcom didn't announce CvS2 for the PS2 just so it could suck.
Who knows, the game may have some loading times which would kind of suck.
The point is that my 50 bucks will be worth somthing on the PS2.
Remember, I GOT BASS!!!!!! on the PS2

This is kind of the wrong board to be discussing Project Justice, but what the hell? PJ certainly has elements of both 2D and 3D games, but it has gameplay out the wazoo! Man, it is one of the best fighting games I have played, if not the best. Team-ups, cancels, tardy counters, and burning vigors only help to make this game better than the two previous installments in the series. But, yes, finally a deep, (at the the very least) decent fighting game is coming to the PS2. Now if the more games were announced...

heeheehee...i like Pj, but perhaps we should return to topic. I think the PS2 is definately in need of a game boost, and I think that CVS2 will do just that. True it is a very deep game (whatever that means), but it lacks one thing. capcom and snk. ok maybe thats 2 things. But really aside from just a few characters from other games, it's really just street fighter vs. king of fighters. this normally wouldn't bother me cuz thats still awesome, I just wish it wasn't so super hyped as it is. but thats just me...

I think it's only hyped up among hardcore fans. Casual gamers are hyped up about FFX, MGS, Tekken, and any shooter or sports game that seems decent. Actual coverage of the game has been slim compared to the millions of movies and screen shots accociated with FFX, MGS, and Tekken.
KOF vs Street Fighter, I only wish it was that.
It's difficult to say that there arn't enough charecters from other games.
Morrigan
Nakoruru
Haohmaru
Kyosuke
Rock Howard
Maki
Toudou
Thats more than enough charecters in my view.
I'm glad they are not putting more charecters from other games, too many would completely bastardize the game, or just turn it into Marvel vs Capcom 2.
It's all about classic fighting baby!!!

How does a 2D fighter have 'depth'? All I see are length and breadth..."...ghoulies and ghosties and long leggety beasties and things that go bump in the night..."

HAHAHAHA!!! *lmao*
whew! that was a good one...
But seriously, I find it hyped at almost every game site I go to. And as for those characters...well ok you got me there, but in the first one there was only one character on each side that wasn't Street Fighter of KOF.

I think it was retreads of old games that gave the PS2 it's bad reputation in the first place (2d fighters, do we really need more of them? What depth does the new one have that the old one didn't?). But then again, in an ironic twist, I think it will be retreads of old games that will give the PS2 it's life (Final Fantasy X, XI, XII, XIII and so on..., Metal Gear Solid 2, Klonoa 2, and of course, those nifty 2d fighters).
