Hey, to all those budding car mechanics out there...I am puzzled. I need someone to help me sort something out on GT3. *girl...doesn't understand cars, just likes making them go fast, so forgive me for asking this

* My Beetle (yes, I only chose it cause it looks cool and comes in a nice shade of green

) used to do 204-ish kmph, but suddenly after I fitted a few more bits and bobs it topped at just 170. It seems as if there is some kind of rev limiter thing going on and it's driving me nuts. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I have done wrong?img>

I think i can help u out here since gt3 is the only good ps2 game its the only one i own. Im pretty sure the problewm lies in your transmission. In stteing look under transmission and you should see a bar that says sports------------------I------------------wide. If its set closest to sports than you will ahve quick acceleration but you'll also suffer a low top-end speed. So to remedy your problem set it closer to wide untill you reach your desired configuration. If this doesnt help than... well... ill get back to you! Good Luck!

Hehe, bingo! I messed the transmission around a bit and now it's running fine again. I guess all I know about elementary motor mechanics you could write on the back of a postage stamp, but hey, at least someone knows what to do.

If only I could make it as fast as my Civic now, that things is so funky.

btw, a rev limiter is what keeps you from over-revving and blowing out your engine. it doesn't limit how fast your car goes, that's the tranny.
oh yeah one more note: manual tranny is the only way to drive
So there's my 2.5 :-)

It is true. I only like GT because it has pretty cars that go fast in it.
