Nah Gestahr,Im just really bored with fighting games. There all the same. I know there are large amount of people are who are absolutly in love with em. I just dont see the difference with all of campcoms retarded fighting game
spin-offs and the "next generation" (my ass) new ones that have been released. I dont think there is a "best new" fighting game for Ps2. The last fighing game that was a massive improvement was the embark into 3D graphics with virtual fighter. Since then, I havent seen at all anything amazing at all.
You got barriers and new fighting grounds to jump down too.
            Big woop.
You have "side stepping" to add more realism to the fighting.
            wow...
You have differnt meters to pull off new attacks while fighting.
            Neat-O!
            You got weapons.
            super!
There Gestahr, have I made my "high note" yet, or should I keep going untill I do

I think I'd like to see SC2 on PS2. I really liked it when I played it at the arcade and on my cousins friends Dreamcast about a year ago. Almsot beaten my cousin at the game once, 5rounds to win and both of us won 4. He was Nightmare and I was Yoshimitsu(my favorite character). Both of us only has like nothing left for health and when I was abut to kill him by kicking him, he punched me.-Never underestimate stupid people in large numbers. They can do a hell lot more damage than you think.-

Saying all fighting games are the same is misguided, if not idiotic. If you're going to lump all games in a genre together and dismiss them collectively, you might as well just stop playing that genre altogether. You'll never be satisfied.

Vidiot... personally I do not see variation in a genre to be a viable reason to enjoy a genre, but instead the defaults and stay-hard aspects.
Fighting games. They are good for two things... well, three things.
The first is multi-player. Fighting games are among the few genres out there that can ALWAYS be enjoyable, if not more enjoyable, when multi-playing. And multi-playing kicks ass...
The second is adrenalin rush. Games tap into the sensories, and the core of a fighting game is pumping up adrenalin and kicking ass. It's refreshing, while remaining very comfortable on your couch. No bruises ma.
The third is a soup of different reasons. Basically though, this third reason would contain all the so-called "bad elements"; stress release, escape (though an RPG is much better for that, but what floats one persons goat...), obsession with violence, tiki taki athletics, OCD... shit like that. One big conglomerative.
Anyway.. new styles in fighters is not really what matters. It's wether or not the game meets the above requirements, and meets them well. So fighterA has new weapons, and fighterB has a quest element... it doesnt matter, they are both FIGHTERS, and should they try to stray from the traditions and do something completely new, they wouldnt be fighters anymore. Because really, how can you do something completely and entirely new?
Is this post even making sense anymore... I havent slept. Vidiot, if you are getting bored with fighters because they are "all the same"... well, what did you expect? Kick, punch, jump, combo...
                    ah.. fighters are good. endgame.
