Quick points: The sticky purple laser was removed and replaced with a green laser that does not stick. People bitched and moaned, but the green laser is actually pretty awesome. It penetrates(butseckslololol) enemies, so enemies behind that enemy can be hit as well.
You also control it's movement with your ship, so it allows you to focus fire on enemies much faster.
