SACD playback removed from 40GB.
I called it.
Sort of.

I fail to see any technical reason why SACD would be cut out.
I'm not so sure about this Stranglehold CE on PS3 either.

Le *bleh* (Translation: Here's my quickie take on it)
The PS3 version of Stranglehold is 720p.
Which means it's 480p on my TV.
Which means it looks a hell of a lot worse than the XBOX 360 version running at 1080i.
Not slightly worse. A hell of a lot worse.
This scaler issue isn't hurting me Sony, it's hurting you. For the resolution alone, I'm purchasing many games on your competition's system, since they look like junk on yours. Sure, blame my TV (a Sony CRT HDTV), but that's irrelevant. I know that your machine is more than capable of producing awesome visuals, but making a number of HDTV owners suffer through this is only hurting your bottom line. At least you should be thankful that I'm aware of the cause for this, and not simply chalking it up to "ZOMG TEH PS3 GRAFIX LOOKS LIEK SH*T!!!!". You've already f*cked a number of consumers off on this, but since you seem to come up with a new model every three months, consider adding that chip on your next edition of the PS3.
*End Sony rant, begin Midway rant*
The movie cannot be launched from the XMB.
The movie does not have any rewind or fast-forward functions, only pause/unpause and chapter skips.
It contains both the English and Cantonese audio, but the subtitles are extremely small. I'm not even joking around about this. They are, by a giant margin, the smallest subtitles I have ever seen on a movie.
Overall, the picture does look pretty sharp for a HK movie from this time period, but the compression artifacts are bad, even for a standard DVD.
If you look at the movie as a $10 bonus to the game, it's a great deal. If you look at it as a $70 BD movie purchase...
