For those of you who are still playing FF8 like me, here are a few of the best secrets and tips I've found in the game....
Kewl Tip #1:
Remember how the strategy guide told you that you could make 100 Gil a pop for selling Edea's letter? That's petty cash compared to what I do to make money! You can do this at pretty much any stage of the game after the Garden is mobile and after you have the necessary GF Skills learned. Go to the Trabia area and fight the horse-like creatures called Mesmerize. You will get an item from them called the Mesmerize Blade (either from Mugging them or by them dropping it). Use your Refine Medicine Ability to refine the blades into Mega-Potions (1 Blade refines to 2 Mega-Potions). Then go out and Sell the Mega-Potions to a shop. Guess what, they sell for 5,000 Gil EACH! That means if you sell 100 Mega-Potions you will get a Cool Half A Million Gil!!! It doesn't take too long to get the Mesmerize blades either. Later on in the game when you have Mug it's a breeze to get them. Also, when you learn the sell-high ability you will be able to sell them for 750,000. I figure that it takes me about 45 mins to get 100 mesmerize blades (1,000,000 Gil ;~)
Kewl Tip #2:
Yes, the the best place to gain Exp is Island Closest to Hell. It's got some of the biggest, baddest, and meanest monsters there. What most people may not know is that even though they are tough the big guys always fall the hardest and fastest. If you junction Death to you Attack you will score big with One-Hit-Kills on T-Rexaur, Blue Dragon, and Grendel. This comes in really handy if you don't want to waste precious time and Cure items, but still want the Exp. As for the other creatures, Ruby Dragon and Hexadragon are both really weak against Gravity, but still a fair challenge though. As for the Malboro, unless you have ulitimate protective spells junctioned, my advice is Run Like Hell!!! He's one tough dude at the best of times.
Kewl Tip #3:
Island Closest to Heaven is a good place for Exp as well. Most monsters here are weak against sleep. This will buy you some time to hit them hard with Magic Spells and Summons. Don't forget to get all the Draw points too....
Kewl Tip #4:
You probably already know this, but Cactar Island is the best place to earn Mega AP (20 AP for each Cactar), but this secret is so good I couldn't help mentioning it. Oh yeah, don't forget to equip water to you attack for an extra edge against them...
I'll post some more stuff here when I remember more. Meanwhile I will be playing more FF8 ;~)

HAHAHAHA !!! to bad I've already found those tips out and beaten the game LAST YEAR !!!! If you told me those tips when I first got the game they would be a good use to me, but now they aren't cuz I don't play FF8 no more, I'm playing FF9. Well, I would've beaten the final disc (which Iam on and gtta fight the final boss due), but I haven't played Sony Playstation for more than a month now.Commander(yelling through his communicator): It turned inside-out?::The monster explodes::Other Guy (speaking through the computer speaker responding): And then it exploded

hmmmm, do ppl find money useful in FF8?? i hardly ever spent anything...since that all u do is remodel weapons, which costs minimal amout of gils, instead of buying them. i don't like buying medicines either...that's prob. y i did not get to spend my gils....
did u actually use all ur gils when playing ff8??

The ULTIMATE experience points tip!!
Go to the Island Closest to Hell, have Quistis in your party, junction her with Initiative, and enter a battle with her HP in yellow. You'll be able to use Degenerator instantly (unless you're struck first) and so far it has killed EVERY moster EVERY time I've used it. And I even got 6 marlboro tentacles when I killed a marlboro.
Of course, nobody really plays FF8 anymore, except poor deprived people like me who are still waiting for FF9 to be released... *sob* It comes into stores tomorrow here!- Min

Is FFIX that great? i mean, so many ppl have bagged it, it seems like it was a bit of a let down? any comments Pyro? coz it STILL hasnt been released here (damn australia) although u can get copied versions of it (NTSC) if ur psx is modified... umm.. im actually hanging out for the suped up ps2 version *fingers crossed* but as the psx version hasnt even been released, i think ill be in for a LONG-ASS wait.. i was one of the very very few ppl who actually found FFVIII FANTASTIC! yeah u heard me.. i loved it so much! the story line and all (even tho many ppl thought it totally sucked) the junction system was fine with me, i found that i could modify my characters exactly how i wanted them (far more accurately then the materia system) and damn rinoa was hot.. haha! better than aeris lol.. anyways, ill still get FFIX coz i have to play everyone for the sake of my sanity.. but if anyone wants to add any lil words of wisdom about the game, feel free to do so...

i totally agree w/ you. I LOVED FFVIII. I liked the junction system because you could use different characters and make them into pretty much whatever you wanted. I loved the character design, story line, everything. I liked it a whole lot better than FFIX.

My fave FF is FF8 because of its in depth storyline and because of squaesofts new try for FF games, having numbers of magic instead, I prefer that by far. Also it had that "love" theme that none other FF's had which made it pretty unique. But then a good game always has its downs. I think that drawing becomes a very tedious thing when you progress into the game, especially the slow animation at times(well it becomes ages for me because I have seen ti so many times ) anyway, I think FF8 is the best....so far, but I am just to go and play FF9, I heard that its a dissappointment from one person and thats its a master piece from another, wonder how it'll be?

Well the story line of FF8 is like kinda screwed cuz first your in that military academy, then you gotta do jobs, then kill the future witch, etc.. But the grahpic, junction system, G.F.'s, attacks and ending is pretty good. FF7 may not have good graphics (their arms almost look like toothpicks at the elbows), but the summons, ending and storyline was great. The FF9 game was kinda easy cuz it goes by fast *coughtomanyvideoscough* and you didn't have to level your guys up to much before fighting another boss cuz it wasn't to hard. Plus it wasn't like FF7 or FF8, your guys didn't need to be at a high level to beat the final final boss, al you had to do is have your best characters (with good attacks like Freay 'Dragon's Crest' and Zidanes 'Theif Chest' attack') at decent levels. And I just love that Leviathan, Bahamut, Fenrir, Arc and Madeen summons and I love Ziadne'strance attack, I kinda forgot what it was called but it was like his ultimate attack and does like 9999 HP damage each time it is used to all enemies. But, I hate the trance, I like tha Limit Breaks better, tey're more interesting than the trance cuz they come out more often when you deseprately need them, not when the characters emtions become to great and make them go into a Trance.THAT'S DISGUSTING !!
