Hey, you know in FFVIII in Ultimecia's castle, why is there like some kind of church organ in the room where you fight the Omega Weapon? I know you can play it, but is it actually used for anything other then a pointless distraction? Katyjag, a young revolutionary...

now that u mentioned it.... i also have another question...how the hell do u get omega and fight it?
i just couldn't figure it out....can't find the key? the stone? whatever...

To fight Omega, get you first party to ring the bell, then switch over to your second party and run to the room with omega weapon and I hope you are prepared.
As for the mucis playing thingy (what was it again), it does something, I can not rememebr what really. I think if you held down all the 4 buttons, it will open a message.-End Message[url=mailto:majorcooke]****MAJORCOOKE****[/url]

Tell me what it does! I've got more than four buttons to play with on the organ though...I think there were four on the PC version, but the PS version has all the notes do rae mi fa so la ti, whatever it is, on there. I would try pressing all of them at the same time, but when I press start, select and the l and r buttons it resets my game. Well, I will have to investigate, I suppose!

I sat fighting Omega Weapon last night for about two hours, using Holy Wars and stuff to keep myself alive (I'm rubbish at this, I cheat! ) Had a great routine going there, my timing was perfect and everything, then one tiny slip up and whoosh, the stupid Omega Weapon ko'd my entire party in one move. Ha, ha, ha. (How I laughed... ) Anyone have any good quick easy ways to slay the evil creature because it's driving me nuts after last night!

For the organ you must hit all of the buttons at the same time to continue.
For Omega heres a good way to beat the bastard:
(This is all from the Official Strategy guide, I just summed it down. This helped me beat him.)
HP: 111,105-1,161,000
AP: 250
Prep stuff:
1) Have 100 Megalixirs, 100 LuvLuvG's and 10 Holy Wars.
2) Each character should be 100% compatible with their GF's. (Duh)
3) Junction 100 death spells to each of the party members Stat-Def.
4) Recover and Revive recommended!!!
5) Squall needs his Ultimate Weapon!!!
6) Cerberus, Eden and DoomTrain are junctioned to characters fighting. Eden is NOT junctioned to Squall.
7) Have a ton of Aura spells.
Also have a healthy supply of Full-Life, and Curaga (I recommend 100 of each)
Battle Tactics:
1) The editor of the guide says Zell, Rinoa, and Squall are needed. I agree.
2) Give Zell Eden, and Item command.
3) Give Rinoa Magic command and DoomTrain.
4) Give Squall Cerberus and the Magic command.
5) Summon all three GF's when the battle starts. Just don't boost DoomTrain!
6) After Omega's defense is down use some physical attacks (Limit breaks, Squalls Lion Heart attack is great here.
7) Boost Eden to max each time.
Have Zell cast Aura on Rinoa and Squall. Use Zells Eden attack and bombard Omega with Rinoa's and Squalls Limit Breaks.
9) Use Holy War on the entire party. After saying "Oh hell yeah!" remember you are "temporarily" invincible with Holy War in place :-)
10) Use Rinoa's Combine limit break. Youre screwed if you lose control of her.
11) While fighting Omega, try drawing some spells out of him before you finish him off. 100 Ultima spells will pay off later.
12) Continue this pattern. Have Zell cast Eden and Rinoa and Squall should use there Limit Breaks. Zell should keep casting Holy War, and keep casting Aura.
After Battle:
13) Bragging is fun to do.
14) When an annoyed bully gets angry thou, cast Aura and continue the same battle tactics.
15) Focus on Junctioning spells on youre speed. This will come in handy when running from the teacher....oh, what was I saying?

Offical? That BAD!? Well if you did do a good job of "rasising" your characters, all you really need is, triple, curagax3, and holy war.
1.wait until he makes his first move. cast triple on the charactor with curaga
2. Use 3 curagas on your team
3. wait for him to use his attack that brings down your hp to 1. Use holy war.
4. RAGE out with limits.
Hopefully you used Squall (w/Lion Heart+high str), Rinoa (w/ Wishing Star). FOr the third charactor. Zell, high STR, do not ever use a Final move, just keep on going! Irvine, lot o' ammo, high offence, turbo botton. What was her name (teacher woman?), if you have, Shockwave Pulsar. Sel-he? (AHAH). hehe.. i actually didnt have such a hard time beating the weapons =/ i mean, the first time i fought them i died in like 5 seconds flat... but i came straight back down and kicked his butt!! hehehee.. didnt use holy wars or stuff like that either! i think i got invicible moon when everyone was down to 1hp tho.. that helped!! Stick an auto X-potion thing on at least one character (i used Rinoa as she had recover)and then use that person to heal others.. keep attacking with Limit Breaks and they arent that hard..
Rinoa, Zell, Squall was my main combo for the whole game.. Zells limit break was my biggest weapon! just doing Booya and Punch Rush (not sure about that name) over and over again with a STR250 stat killed just about anything.. and when he's desperate he gets like 12sec to do his break! if ur fast enough, u can get about 8-10 moves out PER SECOND.. just think- every move is doing a couple of thousand hits of damage.. in 12 sec u can kill Ultemecia herself (no joke, ive done that b4 too.. )
Even tho Quistis shockwave pulsar is heaps cool, it only does about 15,000 right? maybe more if u have a high magic stat.. Zell was deffinately my strongest fighter (even more so than Squall! i found i could do heaps more damage with Zell that Squall, even with his final weapon and everything) hRmzZ.. i think im rambled on enough.. hehehe! FF8 was just so mad when i played thru it, i loved it.. ok, im gonna stop now b4 i get hit *gRiNz*
