Well, we all know how everybody complained how FF8 sucked because of the storyline. But, it seems that FF9 sucks even more than FF8. One reason is that the storyline is alright, but each part of the storyline goes by to fast(or is to short) and it's boring(well only a few are cool). Also, in FF9 the makers of the game didn't really have the characters show more of their characteristics, seems that that Amarant guy is the only one who showed like all his characteristics cuz he is the loner of the entire group and has a bad-attitude and doesn't talk much.
Plus, I think that FF9 sucks @$$ for the loss of magic cuz a lot of the characters, such as Amarant, Stiener(or 'Rusty' ^.^), Eiko(mainly summons) and Zidane doesn't have that much magic to use and makes them weaker than the others.
If I have any more downer, I'll put them up.THAT'S DISGUSTING !! TAKE A SHOWER BABY !!!!

Ok, i agree that FF8 was REALLY bad. The graphics were realistic to humans. But FF9 is ALOT better than ALL of them (ff7 for its time)! First, i see your points, it can go a little fast. But if you actually look at it, it is a really amazing game. The story line is rather good. It MAY have been done (in ff7?) with a few of the ideas. But the most important part is the GRAPHICS! Those are too beautiful for words. If they get any highier, your PS would explode! I dont think it is as bad as you state it to be.....

Hmm!!! FFVIII was my favorite FF of all time. I like the human tones!! I believe that had better graphics (almost) than FF9. There were some annoying things like the waiting time between screens, but this is the one FF I would like to see a sequel done to!

That exactly what I thought about it before I played it, but now I have it and my first disc got destroyed in my PSX. So far my opinion has not changed. But lets wait till I get another copy and clear it a few times.

I've played VIII and IX and I've got to say I'm kind of disappointed with FFIX. It's not a bad game or anything, I just don't think it's a good as it could be. I liked FFVIII a lot more. I don't know exactly what I don't like about it, I think maybe it's the characters...don't seem to be able to get a feel for them. I mean (embarrasment at having to admit this...) I watched the end of FFVIII and I cried myself stupid, it was really sad. I'm only on the third disc, but I haven't found anything in FFIX that's made me feel like that. Maybe I'm just a bit heartless, hey? Don't get me wrong, I think it's a good game, I just think FFVIII was better.Katyjag, a young revolutionary...

Really? You cried? The first five minutes creeped the hell out of me the first time I saw it. That, and I thought the game would end with that

- feather floating down after Squall squeezes a tear out.
The idea that the final FMV was that short scared me even more.
Final Fantasy IX was just a bunch of scenarios thrown together into a totally linear storyline. Those were highly enjoyable scenarios, of course, but they were still scenarios. FFVIII was okay, I guess. War arcs in plotlines always make me feel all fulfilled inside. Still, it did get a bit dull at times. I played through half of VIII in a bored stupor.
FFVII was the first RPG I ever played. Come to think of it, it was the first GAME I ever touched. I bought the PSX console for that thing. And it rocked my little world. At the time.
Then I played FFVI on an emulator. I didn't get far before a bug destroyed my saves, but what I did see showed me what a real RPG is.
Unfortunately, they stopped making Xenogears. I'll pray to Squaresoft, my personal God, to either recontinue or remake completely this game. Bo's BO really made me want this thing.
Wow, I didn't know I had the mental capacity to ramble.

Yep, I am that sad. I would blame it on being a girl, but I think it's just that I'm really that sad.

Haha, no, just got too attached to the characters. What you said about FFVIII is pretty much how I feel about IX. Going through half of it in utter boredom. Things might be getting a bit more interesting now, I won't say what's happening for the sake of not making spoilers, but it might just end up being good, I dunno. FFVII was the first RPG I ever played too. Wish I could say I was an old school RPG fan like so many other people here, but there just weren't all that many around over here before FFVII, I think it started the whole thing off for a lot of us. I wish I could get a hold of a copy of Xenogears, but, never seen that anywhere in the UK.Katyjag, a young revolutionary...

I seem to remember FF6 being a lot like that, with only a few people having awesome spells..yet..it's still regarded as one of the best FF games ever. But i know how you feel, the loss of magic is a lot, still it makes the game a lot harder. The reason why FF7 was so easy was because everyone had a hand at magic + summons, which is basically pretty stupid for an RPG as the boss is supposed to be the hardest thing you've ever met in that game. Sure some people might say that the Weapons made up for that, but killing Sephiroth was like a goal for people *since he did kill Aeris* and downing him in just a few moves is weak..i reckon the ending sucked as well. Guess i was a bit pissed at spending all my Gil on some chickii who dies and wastes my money >_

You, Are crazy! I think FF9 is an endearing classic that will live in the hearts and minds of gamers for years to come. Classic characters like Vivi, Zidane, Steiner. All classic. The story is fun and the characters are very likable. Unlike FF8, where you end up hating Squall because he's an annoying prick, who's depressed all the time and running around that annoying school got old fast. In FF9. You see new areas often and the adventure flows nicely. Anybody who failed to see what a classic FF9 is, is just tired of RPG gaming in general. FF7 was a classic as well. FF8 was just trying to do too much, with no real point in mind. It was'nt very inspired. FF9 is a classic from the moment it starts. I hope FF10 delivers as well.
