This is going to be painful for me. Here we go, in no particular order...
1. The plotlines are beginning to repeat.
2. The graphics are overwhelming other aspects of the game.
3. Character development is at an all-time low.
4. Sidequests are becoming completely mandatory.
5. Plots lag, especially toward the second or third disc (PSX titles)
6. Main characters are bastards.
7. Antagonist's motives become clear much too early in the game.
8. Summoning has become overrated.
9. There are too many cheap ways to completely overwhelm the game.
10. There is no real innovation in the battle system (unless you count junctioning, which I thought was a terrible experiment.)
11. Battles are unnecessarily protracted and slow.
12. There is no real excitement or immersement in the battle system (wait, push button, watch, repeat)
13. Random battles are a bit annoying.
14. Real strategy is less important than overpowering and special weapons.
15...I'm sorry, this is too hard for me. I just...can't bring myself to finish this.

Okay so the random battles thing can verge on being VERY annoying sometimes, so you've got a point there, but, yeah, I don't think that'd justify saying FF sucked. And the whole "main characters are bastards" thing? I like that! I mean, Cloud or Squall (not so much Zidane though...)? Yeah you could quite well say they are, but they're really cool with it too. I really like the almost anti-hero thing that they had going on with those characters, it just makes a change from a traditional good guy with good motives and team spirit thing. Hey, and for someone going by the name Sephiroth, you gotta admit he is prolly one of the best videogame characters ever! Katyjag, a young revolutionary...

GASP! youuuuu why did you post those 15 reasons! your a bad BAD person! but i guess you do have a point, damn random battles, summons are soooooo long, and for nothing all they do is like 2000-5000 damage anyway. I dont think that the sidequests are becoming mandatory, you do it if yoy want the whole story.

For the people that dont like the battle systems, the one in FFX is a bit diferent, besides its in 3D it has turns (goodbye ATB!) and you have the ability to change party members on the fly, at a moments notice, and without penalty of loss of turn. If there is a member of your party that is better suited to a particular enemy, then you can switch out one of the three playable characters for the new one, and use the turn as if nothing happened. This flexibility, in my opinion, would allow the creators to make harder enemies and monsters, increasing the need to strategize.
So FFX has a lot to offer. I'll post a new topic on this explaining everything. It'll be long"I'm the chosen one, Im thier leader in life"

thats just why i loved Chrono Cross.. the fact that u could change characters mid-attack without being penalised.. very handy if one character is stronger than the others at certain enemies.. i actually LIKED the junctioning system in FFVIII! i thought it added heaps more to the game (that is, if u bothered to really dive into it). i have high hopes for FFX.. Ditto. Junctioning was cool. I found it a lot easier to customise characters for fighting certain bosses and whatever, cause you could majorly improve their stats if you put the right magic on the right junction, and being able to change the elemental and status attacks was useful too. I know people moaned about it being too difficult and just not worth bothering with, but I really liked it. Plus you could just use auto junctioning if you really didn't want to do everything yourself.Katyjag, a young revolutionary...

You thought that the junction system was good? Pl-ease. I remeber starting to play that I spended like and hour or so every time i switched characters junctioning the right magic, but eventually I realized that all you had to do was junction 100 of any of the forbidden magic to your strength and thats it. The junction system doesnt allow the characters to be unique. Thats what I thought"I'm the chosen one, Im thier leader in life"
