i got very confused reading all the way to the end of the poll of "what do you think of final fantasy the movie" yes, its very very funny at the end...i was seriously laughing... but what does every1 think of the movie anyways after watching it??
im curious on two things, first, what do you think of the plot, and second, what about the movie over all?? like...on a scale of five, how many stars would you give it??

i personally did not like it THAT much. It was not bad, although the plot was not too exciting (i mean, if you've played FF7, you prob. find a lot of the stuff pretty familiar sounding and not too surprising) animation was of course, gorgeous,...but eye candy is only a part of a great movie, not everything. Screen play was pretty bad, i think they tried to put in some Armageddon-ish humor, but it was really not that funny... i also had a hard time getting attached to the characters (of course, im not expecting fully developed characters like in RPG's...but, at least a movie-level attachment would be good...)
i really support square soft and love final fantasy, but from the angle of a movie viewer, i did not think it was THAT great, ill give it 3 stars or 3.5... they could have made it a lot better...especially the plot and screen play.
(btw, i think Aki was ok looking, at first, i expected a beautiful girl like Rinoa or Yuna, but Aki had the intellectual look which was perfect for her role)

Yes, to the similarities between FFTSW and FF7. I liked it anyway, though. Besides, who can blame Square for using an old plot (which was considered by some to be the best) and turning into a Hollywood presentation. Of course, visuals were top rank. The dialoge...was ok, not bad in view, but could have been better. The problem I saw, and perhaps the biggest problem, was when there was no synchronization between the audio and the lips of the characters. That was...ok, they need to work on that. And when some of the characters wanted to display emotions, there were...some bizarre expressions in their faces. From the angle of the general movie viewer, it was another movie, based on a video game (and then again, not really) that they haven't ever heard of, much less played. For the regular audience, it was yet another sci-fi flick. For me, it was a very interesting experience. Certainly would love to see more if possible, especially if Square perfects those little blemishes in the movie. Overall, a 4 out of 5 for me.

Good Story, even better animation.(And I thought the charecters in FF8 looked real, God they look like plastic dolls compared to those charecters models from the movie)
I hated Ben Afleck(Is that how you spell it, don't really care)though.
8 out of 10 for being a normal sci-fi movie.
2 out of 10 for being a FF movie.
Great movie, just can't compare it to the games, or FF in general.

Fat chance. A profit of $19 million in the US on a movie with a budget exceeding $150 million? You do the math. And frankly, Shrek had better lip-synching and expression, I'm sorry, but it's true.---

Even if Shrek's sound was out of sync with the video it still would have been the better film. Even if Shrek was freaking stick figures it would have been the better film just on the merit of voice acting. I *HATE* bad voice acting. Bad voice acting kills any project.
And I still say Aki is cute.
