Random rule is hard to get rid of. Once it spreads, chances are you will lose a lot of cards. Especially if you have a lot of useless cards. Like ColdUnseen said, the best way to fight Random is to get rid of all the cards that are not character or GF cards. You can just Card Mod them and get the items. As for abolishing it...well, when you carry it into a new land, there's always the possibility that by refusing to play with the rule you'll abolish it. However, that possibility is very slim. Chances are the opposite will happen. So always save your game before you go into a new land with a new card rule.
Bahamut has the rare item ability...lets you get all the rare items. But, you can get him only late in the game, so if you want the adamantine early, you're going to have to duke it out and hope for the best. And Selphie's ultimate limit break, The End, does not depend on the weapon she has, unlike Squall. All you need is to be near death (really near death) and at a high level, and the chances of you getting The End on the slot are higher.
Phew, all these info about FF8...I didn't know I had it all in my head! So that's what's keeping the rest of the stuff from staying in there... Every action has the potential to fill or empty one's heart...587495...

You're a regular goldmine of FFVIII information. Ever thought about setting up one of those game strategy phone lines? You could make billions from this board alone!
Hey, Angelique (returning to the subject of this thread in the first place!) Is finals week done yet? Have you got everything done despite the temptations of FFVIII?

Shoot . you mean I was wrong the whole time ? Screw it . No wonder I could not get The End at all . (when fighting a geezard , I kept on trying to find it ... screw ... I wasted 5 hours on that ... and finally gave up ...)
Erm , just to confirm something ... if you defeat the Spider bot , you will get the adamantine too , right ? Otherwise , I'd got an adamantine for no reason
(Game was a little weird anyway ... the first 2 tries on the game got me Gilgamesh , every item in the game , A LOT OF GILS , all the gfs , all the fully upgraded weapons , all the cards , lv 100 etc ... all in Balamb once I start the game. However ,it hangs when I defeat Ifrit.Shoot.)aThe beginning of Eternity, the end of Time ...b

Yes, you get it if you defeat X-ATM092. Only on the bridge though. Anywhere else it will just repair itself. And how exactly did you get all that stuff in Balamb? I mean, I never had something like that happen to me. Not that I'm doubting you or anything, just want to know how it happened.Every action has the potential to fill or empty one's heart...587495...

It might be that the disk is spoilt or something ... it really was not fun with so many things and you can't progress in the game ... y'know , that kind of " So near , yet so far " feeling .aThe beginning of Eternity, the end of Time ...b

If you really like to know every tip and trick about playing games, try gamefaqs.com. Lots of helpful people out there to guide you along.
But to me, finding out the solutions by myself was part of the fun, too. And definitely more satisfying.

Thanks for asking, Katy. Well, I'm almost done... One more final in a couple of hours, and then I'm going camping with my wonderful boyfriend for the entire weekend! - and I got an extension on SU's deadlines... (still means I have to do nothing but web site related stuff when I get back, but it's definitely better than freaking out about it right now... )
