I'm a sap when it comes to video games. I NEVER cry when watching films... I only seem to get *that* moved when either reading a book, or playing a video game...
I've been able to summarize the WHY of this, for myself anyway; you become involved with games and books, because they require something from you, wether it's putting pictures to words or making choices for your character in the storyline.
And yes, I thought Rinoa was utterly cute, intelligent, and full of life - I'd take her out in a snap. I also felt an attachment to Squall as his character "changed", not to mention he's hot for a bunch of pixels. I sing Radical Dreamers all the time... and Sora...
I get excited when I hear of a new final fantasy game too. I don't cream my pants or anything, but I smile and feel the anticipation.
Yer a GAMER, get over it :

And: hey, Hey lookit me, hey I'm fulla glass, hey lookit me over here... HEY, hey, HEY EINSTEIN! HEY, GET OFF THE BEACH! HEY, HEY EINSTEIN! I'M NIXON IN CHINA! HEY, hey, HEY-EH! :

calling people losers because they don't apply to the standards you use to qualify people as normal or not is a way to guarantee that people WILL be offended.
PS. why do you think that:

i guess what i said was a little harsh, but to my eyes, the truth.. being obsessed with video game/movie characters is not healthy and only developes when people dont have much of a life and play games/watch movies everyday and dont have a girlfriend/boyfriend..in other words, a "loser"... and i think its kind of sad and pathetic, but doesnt happen to everyone. you need to realize that the people you think your in love with or whatever dont really exist and your waisting your time going psycho over them. and you obviously dont know what love is if you think its what you have with a video game/movie character. but thats just my opinion in the matter and i think we should leave it at that. thers no point of taking this any further.

Hey, do you read books? magazines? or even read the posts we are writing? If you read and UNDERSTAND everything you read...you would at least start wondering if women like Rinoa really exist. I'm thinking you don't like RPGs right? If you don't like RPGs then it's IMPOSSIBLE to at LEAST accept the fact that some ppl can fall in love with vedeo game characters.

U cant be in love with a video game character/movie character/person that doesnt even know you exist...
and the character most likely doesnt exist.

I agree, you CAN'T be in love with a polygonal video game character, but you can be in love with their LIKENESS and CHARACTERISTICS. As in, you can love what they stand for and what kind of personality they display in the game. I remember that I liked Aeris from FF7 so much because her character reminded me so much of a close friend of mine, so naturally I was sad when Aeris died in the game. Oh, and I wouldn't call anyone a 'loser', no matter who they are....
