I reckon it's gonna end with me and Sephy downloading it, and then disseminating it among the remnants of the CHV board. :P

How will it work? Disney will release it in 5 theaters in the west coast, and then complain when it "only" makes $1 million. Then, Disney will prepare to release it on DVD dubbed-only (and Mononoke could easily be a fluke, they could easily screw this dub up). Then there will be an outcry from the otakus, and Disney will delay the release. Eventually, we'll get a barebones DVD with great video and audio quality, like in early 2004.
That's...how it'll work out.

The Mononoke release was pretty well done over here, I thought. For a start, they actually released it, and in normal (ie non-specialist weird stuff) shops. And it came with both soundtracks and a book all about Miyazaki's work. I was pretty happy with that. Shame the subtitles were crap though. They'd obviously just taken the dub script and stuck it on the original version because there were words coming up when people weren't saying anything. A bit lazy and amateurish, I think...in fact, you'd never get that in a fansub. katyjag
